MindsEye Developer Build a Rocket Boy Hit by Yet More Layoffs | TechRaptor

It looks like MindsEye studio Build a Rocket Boy has laid off yet more of its employees, leaving just a relative handful of staff members left to work on the company's ongoing projects.

According to a Kotaku report, which cites "sources familiar with the [latest] restructuring", 170 Build a Rocket Boy employees have lost their job in this round of redundancies, with just around 80 staff members remaining at the studio.

This is, as Kotaku points out, the third time that Build a Rocket Boy has engaged in layoffs in the last twelve months or so. Following the disastrous launch of MindsEye in June last year, the company laid off more than 100 employees, and another round of staff cuts took place in March.

Studio CEO Mark Gerhard blamed the latest round of cuts on "corporate sabotage", a line he's consistently taken in order to explain MindsEye's poor reception. Gerhard appears to believe that MindsEye's spate of negative reviews was caused by a concerted espionage effort rather than, you know, the game not being very good.
