A reliable insider has claimed that Nintendo's sudden announcement of the long-rumoured Star Fox remake was done purposefully to "screw with" its leaker.
For some time now, it's been rumoured that Nintendo was working on a brand new Star Fox game of some kind, which was originally leaked by reliable insider NateTheHate, alongside a Legend of Zelda remake. Nate claimed that Star Fox would be announced at some point in April, but ended up having to go back on that and say his information was a "miss".
That acknowledgement happened only a few days ago, which made it very suspicious timing when Nintendo basically shadowdropped a Star Fox Direct last night to announce the new game (which is actually more of a remake, as it turns out). If it didn't already seem like Nintendo dropped it that way on purpose, a reliable insider has now suggested that is indeed the case.
Over on Twitter, Kiwi Talkz (who is known for his interviews with former Nintendo staff and clearly has knowledge about how the studio works) replied to a thread asking about Nintendo's marketing strategy after the Star Fox Direct. Kiwi Talkz simply said that Nintendo did it that way...
