To date, Grand Theft Auto 6 has been delayed twice as Rockstar Games scrambles to finish what's likely the most anticipated video game of all time.
The reason for these delays has always been pretty obvious — Rockstar has a lot to do and not a lot of time to do it. Traditionally, this time shortfall has been made up with brutal crunch periods, as developers work extremely long hours with little to no days off.
Take-Two chief executive Strauss Zelnick recently said that this isn't the case at Rockstar, explaining that GTA 6 was delayed twice to avoid forcing developers to crunch on the game (thanks, Business Insider).
"It's sort of like when I was in college," Zelnick says. "I never pulled an all-nighter because I was good about doing my homework. You do your homework, you don't pull an all-nighter."
Still, an anonymous Glassdoor review of Rockstar was recently posted that claimed the studio is beginning to pressure developers to crunch as GTA 6's release date of November 19 rapidly approaches.
