A University Is Offering Scholarships For Gamers Good At FF14, Elden Ring, And More

If you've ever spent hours on Elden Ring or Final Fantasy 14 and been told that playing games is a waste of time, and it will never amount to anything in life (a bizarre argument from the TV and movie watchers of the world to begin with), then you now officially have something to show that person thanks to the University of Silicon Valley.

Having gone semi-viral on social media recently, the University of Silicon Valley is offering up scholarships to pro-gamers, provided they can prove they've achieved impressive feats in a number of different games. In their words, the university is offering rewards "through the completion of rare and demanding achievements in digital gaming environments."

The scholarship that you get depends on the achievements you've earned. Each game has two tiers, those being Legendary and Mastery, with the former requiring the more impressive achievement. If you manage to get a Legendary scholarship, you'll get $5,000 every year for three years, and just $2,500 if you're in the Mastery tier.

Elden Ring Nightrein is the most and least FromSoftware game ever, which makes it a weird one to market.
