If you've been a big fan of Minecraft over the past few years, chances are you're familiar with the mob vote. If you're not, it used to be a big part of Mojang's yearly Minecraft Live event, in which players could vote for one of three mobs to be added to the game in a future update. Sounds fun in theory, but in practice, the mob vote has long been controversial due to the arguments that surround it each year.

Last year's mob vote received the most criticism by far, which let players vote between a penguin, crab, and armadillo, with the latter coming out on top as the Scutes it drops upon death allowed players to craft Wolf Armor. These mob votes are usually seen as Mojang pitting the community against each other, and the end result is usually disappointment as the losing two mobs are sent to the trash pile forever.
