Until Dawn, along with Horizon Zero Dawn, will probably go down as two modern titles that in no way, shape, or form needed remakes/remasters. Their original versions were perfectly playable on PS5, they're both less than a decade old, and they're absolutely fine to look at. The only thing that these remasters are really offering is improved performance and enhanced visuals, but in the case of Until Dawn, it doesn't even look like this new remade version is offering even that.
Over the past couple of days, as fans and content creators have been getting their hands on the title a little early, there has been a lot of criticism swirling on social media about Until Dawn's PS5 version looking "way worse" than the original. A lot of the comments immediately pick up on the PS5 version's lighting, which appears to be far brighter and less moody and dark than the original.
