Silent Hill 2 Remake has only been out for five minutes in the grand scheme of things, and yet there are already a bunch of mods available, from Carl Johnson and Leon Kennedy (the sign of any healthy modding community) to an awful HD Collection overhaul. But one that radically changes how the game feels is the First Person Mod.
Developed by Jessica Natalia, this mod does exactly what you'd expect. It allows you to play through the remake in an entirely first person perspective, much as in Resident Evil 7 and Alien: Isolation.
As with almost every mod launching this week, given that the game just came out, there are some teething issues.
"An early version of my first person mod," the description reads. "Might still have some issues. Before I had a problem with the player briefly appearing on the screen, mainly during combat [...] So I made the entire model invisible. The downside of this is that there would be no James during cutscenes [...] I still need to test more."
Players report problems with combat and joystick controls, but the mod has paved the way for VR gameplay already.
