This calm, almost meditative experience shines through its charming atmosphere and wide variety of small activities. Fans of the series will love Shin chan and his adventures, while players simply looking for a relaxing journey will also find a welcome change of pace here. Shin chan: Shiro and the Coal Town perfectly captures the style and humor of the anime. Even if it isn’t mechanically complex, it remains a delightful slice-of-life adventure that will likely win over all fans of the Crayon Shin-chan series.

Dungeons 4 delivers engaging and highly addictive gameplay that comes remarkably close to its great inspiration, Dungeon Keeper, while also introducing refreshing ideas of its own through features like the overworld sections. Its distinctly German sense of humor is excellent, even if it can feel a little overwhelming at times, and controls with both the Pro Controller and Joy-Con work reliably well. Unfortunately, the Nintendo Switch version suffers heavily from technical shortcomings. Blurry visuals, flickering, and choppy camera movement noticeably impact the overall experience and hold the game back from reaching its full potential.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is, in my opinion, the most balanced entry in the series and therefore its best installment to date. The excellent variety of game boards helps Jamboree stand out from previous titles, offering far more diversity and replay value. At the same time, numerous quality-of-life improvements — such as the faster pace of matches and smoother overall gameplay flow — make the experience feel more refined than ever before. The huge selection of minigames and characters leaves little to be desired, and the return of a story-mode-like experience finally gives solo players a compelling reason to jump in as well. As a result, Super Mario Party Jamboree succeeds not only as a fantastic multiplayer party game, but also as an enjoyable experience for single-player fans.

Both visually and musically, The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom has nothing to hide. Anyone who enjoyed the art style of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening can jump in without hesitation, while others should look past the slightly playful, childlike presentation and embrace the game’s wonderfully classic-yet-modern gameplay.

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection is a fantastic compilation of the final two missing entries in the Ace Attorney series. Not only does it introduce a brand-new German localization, but it also features upgraded character models and an overall visual overhaul. With more than 50 to 60 hours of gameplay, these titles will keep players engaged for quite some time while finally answering several lingering questions that many longtime fans of the series have been waiting to see resolved.

Emio – The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club is a gripping, well-crafted, and thoroughly solid detective adventure that leaves players wanting more. I sincerely hope this won’t be the final entry in the series, as there are far too few games of this kind available on Nintendo Switch and other platforms — especially when setting the Phoenix Wright and Apollo Justice titles aside.

This game is the very definition of popcorn cinema — it aims to entertain, doesn’t overstay its welcome, and even delivers a few genuinely creepy moments along the way. Interestingly, the scares mostly come outside of the combat sections (Here, kitty kitty kitty). As for me, I’ll probably keep working my way toward 100% completion and tackle the bonus levels one by one.

Visions of Mana is not just a new entry in the series — it’s a fantastic one. The game shows a deep respect for the franchise’s lore and for the elements that made classics like Trials of Mana and Secret of Mana so beloved in the first place. It genuinely transported me back to the era of those games, to the point where I simply couldn’t put the controller down and always wanted to keep playing. The beautiful visuals, the magnificent soundtrack, and the refined gameplay all come together to create that feeling in a truly special way

Cat Quest III is exactly what we hoped for — an evolution of its predecessors that not only improves the gameplay with more possibilities, but also successfully embraces a fully open world. The visuals, menus, soundtrack, and overall presentation all feel thoughtfully designed, making this, in our view, the strongest entry in the Cat Quest series so far. The trademark ‘cat humor’ is once again fully intact and, this time around, even works surprisingly well in the German localization. The co-op mode allows you and a friend to explore the world of Cat Quest III together, creating countless fun moments along the way. For longtime fans, this is an easy recommendation, and newcomers can jump into the series with the third installment without any issues at all.

Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition introduces both younger and older players to the concept of speedrunning in an accessible and entertaining way. With an excellent selection of bite-sized challenges spread across 13 NES classics, there is something here for everyone, and the game constantly encourages players to improve their high scores in order to earn more coins for unlockable goodies. The World Championship mode is also thoughtfully designed and successfully captures the spirit of competition, even without directly facing your rivals in real time.

Super Evil Megacorp has delivered an addictive title that doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but integrates the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe perfectly into its gameplay structure. Anyone who enjoys roguelike games should not pass this one by and is strongly advised to give it a try.

As a fan of the series and its single-player mode, this entry will certainly satisfy players looking for that experience. The levels are well-designed, plentiful, and technically sound throughout. There is a noticeable frustration factor at times, but it remains entirely manageable thanks to the virtually non-existent loading times between levels within a world, as well as the quick reset after a ‘Fall out!’ moment. At the same time, the growing motivation to eventually clear a difficult stage balances this out and keeps the experience engaging.

In general, I can say that Moonstone Island is a very relaxed, beautifully crafted pixel-art game that still doesn’t feel boring even after extended playtime. Whether I’ll purchase the DLC as well is something I can’t currently say, as it consists purely of cosmetic items. Moonstone Island is a game for anyone who has ever wished for a blend of Stardew Valley and Pokémon. Thanks to its genre mix, it will also appeal to fans of cozy games such as Animal Crossing.

The strength of the ghost-hunting adventure lies in its humor, charm, and fitting sound design — and that remains unchanged in the HD remaster of Luigi’s Mansion 2. The numerous cutscenes are especially enjoyable to watch, and Charles Martinet already did an excellent job back then bringing Luigi to life.

The game is well suited for players who are fascinated by highly detailed heavy construction machinery and have always wanted to operate such equipment themselves. Those who can look past its graphical and technical shortcomings will still find several enjoyable hours with the game.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door remains an exceptionally high-quality title that has aged remarkably well and still doesn’t hold back even today. The game captivates both longtime fans and newcomers alike. Numerous quality-of-life features, the new soundtrack, and its picture-book-like visuals successfully bring Paper Mario 2 into the modern era. The controller felt almost glued to my hands, and despite having played the title multiple times back in the day, I still couldn’t put it down. This is clearly Nintendo’s RPG hit of the year!

If you spend a while searching the seabed at a depth of 50 meters for treasures and crabs, you’ll be all the more surprised to suddenly hear a whale’s song and spot an orca swimming above you. Or you might find yourself surrounded by dolphins, even joining them if there’s enough space, while you continue looking for the next beautiful coral bay or explore that one hole in the ground leading into a dark cave. Let it be said: it’s great solo, but with other players it’s even more fun!

Princess Peach: Showtime! is not perfect. However, I would personally still recommend the game without hesitation — regardless of your age. Anyone who enjoys Kirby games will likely also have a great time with Princess Peach: Showtime! (after all, both share a fondness for the color pink). The game clearly aims to appeal to a wide audience, and that ambition deserves to be rewarded.

For me, Operation Galuga has reignited my passion for Contra, and I believe many longtime fans of the series will immediately feel at home as well. The difficulty level is moderate for Contra veterans, though it will still make you curse at certain points. The strong selection of stages and music is sure to make any fan’s heart beat faster, and the multiplayer experience in particular feels excellent.

Like a fine ancient artifact, Tomb Raider I–III has been almost perfectly restored for modern consoles. All content is included, and as a newcomer you can easily expect 60–70 hours of gameplay. If you aim to uncover every secret, it will take even longer. Each level averages around 20–40 minutes. Despite some dated mechanics and ‘hard-to-spot’ keys, the games have aged well and remain accessible—especially when using the updated controls and improved visuals.
