It’s amazing what a development studio can pull off when it listens to feedback from all sides. Fans were asked what bothered them about the original Yooka-Laylee, and the developers addressed those issues head-on. In addition to numerous quality-of-life improvements, you’ll also get significantly more content and much smoother gameplay. Yooka-Replaylee also performs very well on the Nintendo Switch 2, though it could still use a few updates in terms of performance. At its core, Yooka-Replaylee now feels like what it actually wanted to be 8 years ago: a true spiritual successor to the two classics, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie.

Lumo 2 is a very successful tribute to British games from the 1980s and 1990s. It’s a joy to puzzle your way through the rooms and figure things out for yourself through trial and error. However, if you have a low tolerance for frustration or don’t want to take the time to make progress through trial and error, Lumo 2 might not be the right game for you.

Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted is a worthy, expanded remaster of the classic game that brings it up to date for the modern gaming era. The game also comes with bonus content that further enhances the experience. Longtime fans will get their money’s worth here, but it remains to be seen whether the game can attract new fans. After all, the tower defense scene hasn’t stood still in recent years—other games in this genre offer more refined gameplay mechanics and more varied levels that feel more modern overall.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is an ambitious game packed with new ideas—and that’s exactly what makes it so exciting. It breaks with old conventions, ventures into real-time battles, incorporates stealth mechanics, and takes the gameplay to a level of detail never seen before. But this departure comes at a cost. Technical flaws, a somewhat limited setting, and occasional design complications raise questions of balance. However, if you can overlook these weaknesses—and embrace the new gameplay format—Pokémon Legends: Z-A offers a fresh, rewarding experience that can captivate Pokémon fans in new ways. It’s not a perfect game, but it’s an important one: a sign that Game Freak is willing to experiment. And even if the path remains rocky, it’s heading in the right direction.

Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Compared to other games like Diablo, it’s obviously not particularly complex. But that’s part of its charm, and it’s a must-have, especially for fans of the Nicktoons series. We had a lot of fun playing multiplayer, especially since we got to step into the shoes of our favorite heroes.

A must-have for all Mario fans and platformer enthusiasts. If you’ve only played Super Mario Galaxy so far, you should consider whether it’s worth buying Super Mario Galaxy 2. You can also purchase it separately in the Nintendo eShop. You can enjoy both games in short bursts or play them for longer stretches at a time. While these games are pricey on the Nintendo Switch, they’re absolutely worth it!

The Edge of Allegoria does a better job of capturing the look of classic Game Boy games than it does the actual feel. The system for mastering weapons and equipment to learn skills and boost stats is a great idea. Even though the writing and the dungeons leave something to be desired, the game still has its moments and also features a little twist in the finale that I didn't see coming.

Chronos: The New Dawn gets a lot of things right, though it doesn’t exactly reinvent the wheel. The atmosphere immediately draws the player in and makes you want to discover more and more of this world. The technical execution, while not perfect, looks great on the Nintendo Switch 2 and certainly holds its own against other versions. As a bonus, the Nintendo Switch 2 version supports mouse controls, which worked surprisingly well for a shooter. With a satisfying playtime of 15–20 hours, Chronos: The New Dawn offers plenty of fun. If you liked Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space, you definitely shouldn’t pass up Chronos. The atmosphere is simply amazing!

The combination of farm work, crafting, animal care, and social interactions works exceptionally well. The wide range of options, the voice acting, and the varied soundtrack all come together to create an immersive experience. Even the occasional slight stutter during cutscenes and on stormy days doesn't detract much from the experience.

Drag x Drive is a fascinating blend of sports, arcade, and social gameplay—though there’s a risk that the initial excitement will fizzle out. If Nintendo were to regularly expand the game with new modes, cosmetic items, and match variety, I think the score could even climb to the 70–75% range. So far, however, we haven’t received any indications regarding a roadmap or further support for the game.

Soma, despite its technical shortcomings on the Nintendo Switch, has kept me hooked. Its incredible atmosphere more than makes up for its flaws. The story, though confusing at first, becomes utterly compelling as it unfolds through numerous twists and turns. Why are there no humans left? Why are we 89 years in the future? These questions are answered—but in a deeply thought-provoking way. The excellent soundscape and atmospheric sounds made me feel like I was on PATHOS-II. With fantastic ambient sounds, an intense atmosphere, and a playtime of 8 to 12 hours, Soma isn’t a long game, but it’s just the right length to keep boredom at bay. If a patch or the Switch 2 version addresses technical issues, Soma is a must-buy for all horror fans.

The “Gex Trilogy” brings back a long-forgotten video game character—complete with all his strengths and weaknesses. Platformer fans and nostalgic Gex enthusiasts should definitely check it out.
