Denshattack!! is a great arcade platformer with clear inspiration from Tony Hawk. The exaggerated style fits the unique and energetic gameplay perfectly and the game brings a surprising amount of levels considering its tight design. If you find the idea behind the game at least somewhat interesting, you should give it a try. Personally, Denshattack!! rivals Yoshi and the Mysterious Book as my favourite game experience of the year.

All in all, I do find *Full Metal Schoolgirl* quite entertaining. But the roguelite concept doesn’t sit well with me given the potential for repetitive play, especially as chance can really throw a spanner in the works.

The Gunvolt Chronicles: Luminous Avenger iX 1 + 2 Dual Collection contains two charming action titles that feature fairly simple core systems but also offer upward potential for interested players. The style of the pixel graphics and illustrations is pleasant to look at, and I enjoy the musical accompaniment. Simply playing through the games is very accessible, especially in the second installment, but more challenge is provided as well. That the former download contents are included is welcome.

For the most part of the adventure, I really had a lot of fun slipping into the skin of the little gecko, climbing across pillars, walls, and ceilings, and of course exploring the entire world and solving a few little puzzles. But at the same time, something was simply missing — and I don't mean my sense of direction. Because beyond that, I was also lacking a bit of variety and, above all, substance.

Maseylia has some damn good ideas in terms of level design, and the world-building is solid. The non-linearity also comes into play more as the game progresses. But especially at the beginning, I think the game could just as easily have been a linear platformer. My biggest criticism, however, is that Maseylia just doesn't feel right, whether it's combat or platforming.

Unfortunately, Tekken 1 is a fighting game that hasn't aged very well, and even with the Arcade Archives 2 additions, it doesn't quite convince me enough to move it out of the “yellow” category. Still, I'd probably recommend it over the PS1 version, unless you absolutely can't do without the bonus characters.

Samurai Maiden is a fairly simple action game featuring a fair amount of rather shallow dialogue between the characters. Anyone looking for depth in the combat system or the story won’t find what they’re after here.

Fittingly, I mentioned last year with Formula Legends that I was missing a split-screen mode there. Now 4PGP offers me just that. Admittedly, this unfortunately can't quite match the quality of the aforementioned title, yet it's solid enough that I find it perfectly fine for multiplayer.

It's not quite the game I bought back then, but for me the VR rhythm game just got better. Especially thanks to active support with updates and new DLC packs, Synth Riders is for me the best VR rhythm game experience on PSVR2.

Overall, Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is still a good RPG with partially interesting visual design, a solid story, and great music. Thus, it is the best way to experience the game on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Elliot is a tremendous amount of fun, especially thanks to its rewarding exploration and enjoyable combat system. However, the game falls short of becoming a top-tier title because its different time periods feel too similar to one another. Overall, I’m very much looking forward to a sequel that addresses the game’s obvious weaknesses and builds upon the genuinely strong foundations it has already established.

Fire Emblem Mystery of the Emblem is a good mix of remake and sequel which offers a tremendous amount of content and features some really nice map designs. The game can at times be rather invoncenient, e.g. because of not offering a combat effect erstimate when on the offense (meaning you have to compute the expected outcome by hand), restricting the movement of the cursor by the movement range of the character you want to move and the unnecessary difficulties choosing a starting formation. This diminishes the enjoyment to be had with the game a bit, when compared to more modern sequels. Nevertheless, it is a very well-designed SRPG that will keep you occupied for a long time and offers a few great ideas in its map design, particularly in Book 2.

Adorable Adventures is a cute adventure revolving around a wild boar in a national park. The tracking of scent trails is not overused within the game framework. Additionally, the game offers some side content. Only Boris's slippery hooves dim the gameplay fun a little bit.

Four Swords is an interesting experiment with some ingenious design ideas that, however, were only fully unfolded in the great follow-up game Four Swords Adventures. Nonetheless, it is undoubtedly worthwhile to play the first tentative steps of a multiplayer Zelda and to insert one or more entertaining rounds for two to four players. By the way, the single-player variant in Four Swords Anniversary also works surprisingly well, although its availability today is difficult to manage.

Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei, the otome visual novel, leads into historical Japanese events and skillfully combines the Genpei War and fiction. Shanao is an entertaining protagonist whose various facets are brought to light.
