Regicide is chess. You are buying a computer chess game. Yes the graphics are tasty and the fight scenes are well done and the atmospherics are exemplary. But it's Combat Chess with a twist, and not even a big twist.
Dropsy is a bit of an oddball game, so I wouldn't bet on it having wide appeal, but those who love it will really love it. It's a point-and-click title without written hints, making it inherently challenging, but because the quests involve helping people, solving puzzles feels that much more rewarding. It's such a heartwarming game, it's easy to forget that the protagonist is an accidentally murderous clown.
Whether you play through these three games once, or several times, Uncharted is still required gaming. The Nathan Drake Collection puts three of last generation's most important games in one place, all with enhancements that make it the best way to experience Nathan Drake's story.

If you don't like the idea of spending hours and hours replaying levels and building up characters, then you might want to look somewhere else.

Rack N Ruin redeems itself with a second showing on PC, but only if you abandon your controller for the ol' fashioned keyboard and mouse. The black comedic story of a demon set to enslave the earth pops with colorful backgrounds and challenging, fast-paced gameplay and finds redemption in its PC release.
Blood Bowl II is a unique tactical turn-based game with an amusing setting and a lot of personality. The underlying game is solid and offers a lot of possibility for multiplayer, but the interface and the camera could use a little bit of polishing. Otherwise the biggest problem will be finding players willing to stick around for the league mode.
Skylanders SuperChargers is hands-down one of the best kid-friendly games on the market, and the most complete realization of the "toys to life" genre to date. The variety of platforming and kart-based gameplay holds charm for gamers of all ages, and while you'll need to buy more vehicles to access the game's full spectrum of content, there's more value to be had in both the toys and the game this time around.
If you're looking to get your pants scared off, SOMA may not be the game for you, but for those who appreciate its brand of subtle horror, it is truly a masterpiece. Leaning towards the cerebral, the narrative has been set up to make you ponder all of the dialogue and question every decision, even one that moves you forward. It's a thought-provoking story wrapped in a stunning package.
Overall, FIFA is clearly the most technically sound sports franchise in EA Sports' pocket, which can result in a lack of risk taking. For now, no risks are needed, as FIFA 16 is a fantastic addition to a storied franchise.
Destiny: The Taken King made me a believer. It is an enormous step in the right direction for Destiny, and improves upon Destiny in almost every regard.
After a small misstep in NHL 15, NHL 16 feels like a huge apology letter to fans. Many removed features have returned, but that also means improvements are few and far between. EA Sports Hockey League features a nice shot in the arm, but the Be a GM mode seems to be taking a back seat. Be a Player has received some nice additions, but not being able to alter the period length seems absolutely asinine and ruins the mode. NHL 16 is a well-written apology letter that will bring fans back to the franchise, but if you are looking for monumental upgrades, look elsewhere.
The noir atmosphere is top notch, making it one of my favorite things about this game. The environment is more detailed than you might expect, and the mystery plot is fun to experience. Though some aspects of Calvino Noir can be frustrating or not as polished, overall it is worth the journey.
Armello presents an imaginative backdrop to a fantasy board game with deep mechanics. The steep learning curve and balancing issues may put off some players, but those who put in the time will be rewarded the most.
Dead in Bermuda is without a doubt an interesting game, from the comic book art style and oddball characters to the challenging resource management. Though this game is somewhat of a mixed bag, I'd say that you'll come away from it with mostly positive feelings. It is strange but enjoyable, and perhaps the vision was too ambitious for the final product.
With improvements in literally every area, Forza Motorsport 6 positions itself as the absolute best racer on the market. There are a few oil leaks, but when compared to the upgrades, they are easier to ignore. Come for the incredible racing and showcases, stay for the best rain physics in any game, ever.
The Phantom Pain strays from the formula to perfect a new one, offering the best in open-world emergent gameplay we've seen this generation. While the story sometimes falters under expectations, the characters, aesthetic, and polish of this game set it apart as one of the year's best. Thank you Kojima, for one last Metal Gear Masterpiece.
Disney Infinity 3.0 improves combat, adds space combat, and couples it with the most storied franchise in history to create a hit. The story is worth playing, and (most) of the vehicles are a great addition to the formula. With dozens of hours of content on top of the Toy Box's modes virtual sandbox, this year's iteration truly has the potential for infinite fun.
