Gorgeous and addicting, Resogun is the PlayStation 4's best and most compelling launch title, and one of the best gaming treats so far this year.
Knack's basic gameplay foundation is a solid one, but with extremely poor, numbingly repetitive level design and an absolutely absurd difficulty level, it is mostly an exercise in frustration, and one of the unfortunate low points of the PS4 launch lineup.
If you can look past the relatively high price tag and short running time, then BioShock Infinite: Burial at Sea - Episode 1 is a satisfying, if underwhelming, addition to the canon.
While Deadfall Adventures shares its inspiration with Indiana Jones, it lacks everything that made the movie series special. Instead, it features bland puzzles, basic combat mechanics and many frustrating gameplay issues.
LEGO Marvel Super Heroes isn't a revolutionary or unique experience. However, it does what it promises to do quite well, and offers quite a bit of quality content for a below average price tag. As such, it's easy to recommend.
Though not the AAA blockbuster that it once was, Call of Duty: Ghosts is saved by a robust and extensive online offering, one in which players will find endless hours of fun.
Battlefield 4 isn't a massive step forward for the series, but it is a refinement of everything that makes it great. Despite a bland campaign, the game still stands out as one of the most feature rich and intense multiplayer FPS games on the market.
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag is a polished and all-encompassing experience, which pits players into the role of an eighteenth century pirate named Edward Kenway. While it doesn't blow its predecessors out of the water by presenting anything revolutionary, it provides fans with a fine-tuned and expanded take on its series' core foundations.
Polished, educational, and fun, Rocksmith 2014 is an improvement on the original in almost every way.
Pokémon X and Y isn't quite an impassioned love letter to the series, but it's damn close. Players can finally experience this world in full polygonal 3D, and despite its remaining grid-based roots, the sense of freedom and openness is tangible and real.
