9.5 / 10.0 - Aaero
Apr 11, 2017

It's only through a combination of rich, collaborative, and altogether interactive elements that something like this can be born, a piece of software that shirks tedious story and plodding industry conventions in favor of pummeling sound and pure, unadulterated gameplay. In that regard, Aaero is exclusively, utterly, and unapologetically 'video game'.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is a lot of fun, but there's no way a remaster should cost this much without substantially more new content.

8 / 10.0 - Yooka Laylee
Apr 4, 2017

I imagine there will be people who won't find this kind of flavor appealing, who might consider the game to be dated and maybe even outright pandering, but I'm not one of them.

All things considered, it's difficult to recommend RBI 17 to any demographic. No matter what box you have the game in, there's a superior version to be found elsewhere in each concept.

If you are at all interested in the world of Berserk, either as a long time fan or a complete newbie then this game is worth a look. If you are looking for an interesting game with varied as well as involved hack and slash gameplay, you might want to give this entry a miss and check out one of the mainline Dynasty Warriors games instead.

7 / 10.0 - Snake Pass
Mar 29, 2017

The implementation of realistic snake physics is commendable, and may even be what snagged Snake Pass a green light in the first place, but it's also what drags down what could have otherwise been a phenomenal platforming experience.

8.5 / 10.0 - MLB 17: The Show

The Show is still striving for perfection, but if you love baseball and video games, you need this in your life.

7.1 / 10.0 - Disc Jam
Mar 25, 2017

As it is, Disc Jam is a great and interesting concept that leaves you wanting more. Just as quickly as you gain an affinity for the game, you can also get bored with it once you realized there just isn't a lot to offer. Even with the obvious shallowness, Disc Jam is worth your time.

6.5 / 10.0 - Troll and I
Mar 21, 2017

When it really comes down to it, Troll and I would have been a truly ambitious game for any studio, let alone one as humble as Spiral House. While the team's modest size is betrayed by the game's myriad technical issues, what they've attempted here is, quite honestly, laudable.

I have a feeling that Mass Effect fans will enjoy the game, but I don't think anyone will claim it outclasses the original trilogy, outside of maybe the very first game. If you could combine the story and memorable quests of the originals with the combat, visuals and scope of Andromeda, you would have the perfect video game, though I think what's offered here will satisfy most.

I was impressed with Horizon from the outset, my interest lagged a bit in the middle, but by the end I was a convert. This is a very cool universe with a genuinely likable new lead. Gameplay is excellent in most sections, and it avoids some irritating open world tropes like overloading players with substance-free side missions. There are some problems that reflect Guerrilla being new to this genre, but ultimately the good far outweighs the bad.

Malicious Fallen is a great package as you are effectively getting three very involved games to play with for a very reasonable price. Considering the difficulty as well as the complexity of the game, it's likely you'll be playing Malicious Fallen for a good while.

9.5 / 10.0 - Nioh
Feb 8, 2017

Nioh is a fantastic Samurai action-RPG with excellent Dark Souls inspired combat, multiplayer options and tons of content. Not for the faint of heart. Boss fights can be as tedious as they are challenging.

In short, if you are new to Marvel vs. Capcom then pick this up to get ready for Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, whereas more experienced players should probably give this one a miss.

Resident Evil 7 Biohazard is a great new direction for the series that's genuinely scary and is only marginally held back by tedious combat.

8 / 10.0 - Gravity Rush 2
Jan 15, 2017

Overall, Gravity Rush 2 is a fantastic sequel to an already very good and interesting Vita game. Due to its unique gravity based mechanics, there are still some teething issues but the game remains eminently playable and fun with it. I am very glad Sony stuck by this series, as it is shows that games are at their best when they are weird and varied. I only hope that this is not the last we have seen of Kat and her gravity shifting abilities, as there’s a lot more scope here for something even better.

7.5 / 10.0 - The Last Guardian
Dec 5, 2016

Overall, The Last Guardian for all its faults is a good game and one that I have enjoyed. Yes, there are many frustrating elements, amplified by the fact they feel unnecessary and out of character for the series, but the journey this game takes you on is a worthwhile one.
