Madden 17 meets expectations handedly and is poised to break out as one of video game's most elite (sup, Joe Flacco?) simulation titles.
Playable and engaging in short doses, a game worth exploring if modding community takes the game up for sure.
Deceptively simple yet near impossible to master, Videoball is sure to generate a cult following.
Steer clear of MXGP 2 unless you're a Time Attack enthusiast or a motocross fanatic who can overlook the game's faults.
As sports games become increasingly complex, Active Soccer 2 DX attempts to bring back the simplicity of yesteryear with mixed results.
Stikbold! is quite limited, but it has its heart in the right place.
Not a game for those wanting to master it from the get go, the payoff is well worth the effort put into DiRT Rally.
Great if you want to peruse historical stats but it doesn't handle the other aspects of the game well enough to stand out.
R.B.I. Baseball 16 still feels like an overpriced, mobile-quality game that's lacking features. An easy pass even if you are a baseball fan
MLB The Show 16 feels like the culmination of years of tiny but meaningful improvements that make it the best baseball game on consoles.
A game that'll please lacrosse fans, and one that may offer a worthy diversion for more adventurous sports gamers.
Out of the Park 17 returns as a beautiful baseball simulator whose immersion factor continues to increase.
Putting aside the familiar career mode, EA Sports UFC 2 is a worthy upgrade.
The game has loads of depth, but the AI is spotty and DDS: Pro Football does not bring much of anything new to the text-sim genre.
Wait for the January patch. Hope that the freeze bug gets fixed, the shortcuts get removed, and the leaderboards get wiped.
As a game that attempts to represent one of those relatively minor sports, this is a good effort despite a relatively limited set of features. Gameplay, as bland as it is, does offer something new and is certainly functional. In all, this game feels like an indie title you'd find on the Xbox 360, like the well received College Lacrosse 2012. Unfortunately, this game comes with a much steeper price tag of $40. At that price, I can't recommend this title to anyone except a die-hard handball fan who's hankering for some virtual action.
A solid game which you'll find plenty of reason to invest into if you are a fan of soccer text-sims.
Unless Nintendo decides to give Ultra Smash some Splatoon-esque post-release support, series loyalists should just keep playing old versions
A title which offers good action, but perhaps a hair too repetitive and lifeless for some.
A game that if you love wrestling you will find a reason to love it. Otherwise, game needs polish and better design decisions.
