Dragon's Crown Pro is an entertaining RPG when played solo or with friends. With so many remasters available on current generation consoles, its production values are reminiscent of a time when developers made games and not ever evolving live services. It's still a ton of fun to play, even five years later.
Thanks to its fantastic art style and solid writing, Shantae Half-Genie Hero Ultimate Edition has enough to make it stand out from the crowd. If you're looking for a great platformer, it's well worth considering.
All in all, Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is solid entry in the franchise. It's not exactly the most accessible for newcomers but once you come to grips with its depth and scale, you're treated to solid sessions of political intrigue, backstabbing, and drama galore.
All said and done, Kratos' PS4 debut is, if you'd excuse the pun, a god tier affair. Fan boys may deride the lack of spectacle and its nuanced take on a well-loved protagonist may not be for everyone, but its rare to see a reimagining to a series handled as deftly and with such polish and care.
These issues notwithstanding, Far Cry 5 is a welcome entry in a series that's been consistently entertaining over the years. The campaign is filled with memorable characters, robust progression, and action galore that all combine to make it a treat to play.
At the moment, Sea of Thieves feels like a mock up house used by real estate agents to sell you on a property. It's a polished prototype with promise and potential, but it's so far removed from what the actuality is that you're better off waiting.
If you're looking for a game with fun arcade off-roading, Gravel is a decent choice but its lack of gameplay variety, average visuals, and steep price hold it back.
Thanks to the camera, it's hard to tell if you're going to make a particular jump, and the jumps themselves – especially the double-jump – don't feel consistent. The expansion also intermittently suffers from graphics bugs, where characters don't render.
All in all, thanks to its fantastic story, memorable cast, and more than competent gameplay, Yakuza 6 is an apt send off for the hero of one of the more criminally underrated franchises.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is a lacklustre take on one of last-generation's most beloved titles.
All in all, it's this hodgepodge mix of ideas that makes Metal Gear Survive a unique entry in the franchise, and perhaps its most divisive entry yet.
Overall, Monster Energy Supercross – The Official Videogame is an enjoyable racing game packed within a fairly lacklustre wrapper, one that doesn't try hard enough to please anyone but the hardcore supercross fanbase.
Age of Empires: Definitive Edition succeeds in its goal — giving fans of the series a painstakingly remastered game that is faithful to the original.
Rise and Fall continues Civilization 6's aim to deconstruct its complex structure, making it leaner and more approachable for a larger audience.
At the moment, we'd recommend waiting this one out until it gets a few more updates. Underneath a myriad of technical muddles lies a serviceable RPG, although right now, it's nowhere close to what it could be.
Minus its co-op niggles, Aegis Defenders pulls off its ambitious gameplay mechanics with ease. All of its elements, while seemingly disparate, end up working quite well together giving Aegis Defenders a sense of cohesion, making it a quirky, engaging game worth checking out.
If you're a fan of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Fighterz is well worth the price of admission due to how close it mimics its source material. Thanks to a flawed combat system, it's tough to recommend for others. There are better fighting games to consider, this isn't one of them.
All in all, Capcom has crafted a large, sprawling RPG that's addictive and entertaining without watering down any sense of depth.
Life is Strange: Before the Storm is proof that good prequels don't just extend the atmosphere of what fans loved about its predecessor, but complement one another.
For most people Sonic Forces is a game best avoided, especially when Sonic Mania is around to give a taste of what the franchise should be aiming for.
