4 / 5.0 - Munin
Jun 29, 2014

It won't light the gaming world on fire, but it's still a good way to spend a few hours when looking for something relaxing to play.

4.2 / 5.0 - EA Sports UFC
Jun 24, 2014

In conclusion, EA Canada should be commended on creating a sturdy fighting title that replicates the world of the MMA well. With the inclusion of real world fighters, amazingly detailed graphics and a decent gaming engine, MMA is fun fighter that definitely takes realism to a new level. More importantly, the game feels like a nextgen title on the PlayStation 4 and thankfully the controls are quite responsive and not as clunky as some other titles.

5 / 5.0 - Mario Kart 8
Jun 11, 2014

I have to admit that this is arguably the best game on Wii U. Mario Kart 8 brings all the frustrating fun and friendly chaos that has been expected from the series, but this iteration is much more refined and well-toned. The controls feel really great, no matter what configuration you use. If there is any reason to buy a Wii U, let Mario Kart 8 be it.

Murdered Soul Suspect is a game that is hard to recommend in terms of gameplay and due to a lack of substantial content

It is clear that the developers put their entire heart in this game and wanted to make something fun. Personally, I feel they succeeded and highly recommend the game once it is released in the next few days. The game's price is an amazing deal and well worth it. To emphasize how fun it was, when I was previewing the game and the time was up I was surprised that it had already been over three hours when it had only felt like one. It is easy to lose track of time in the enjoyment of the game. And a game that is so fun you lose track of time is a good game indeed.

3.1 / 5.0 - Bound by Flame
May 21, 2014

Given the price of Bound by Flame, I believe that it is a little overpriced and tries to be a triple A title that unfortunately doesn't add anything new to this genre. From a gaming perspective it works but it needed some more game testing and probably a revamped skill system that makes you feel out of your depth. Nonetheless, I've seen far worse Western RPG's and thankfully Bound by Flame ticks most boxes.

In conclusion, Wolfenstein The New Order may not reach the heights of the original game but it does give gamers an old school first person shooter experience that works on many levels. The upgrade system of your character is a little limited and it would have been good if developers MachineGames fleshed this out some more but it's still worth investigating. Nonetheless if you want to play a first person shooter that doesn't take itself too seriously but still delivers a fun gaming experience than Wolfenstein The New Order is that title.

The Amazing Spiderman 2 may not do total justice to our hero, but the ride is a good comic book distraction.

If you loved Mario Golf Advance World Tour on the GBA than Mario Golf World Tour is the evolutionally predecessor of this series that features sturdy gaming mechanics with plenty of Nintendo love thrown into the mix. Even if you don't like golf, the developers have created this really fun game that can actually be quite a challenge as you progress through Castle Club.

Diablo III Reaper of Souls boasts great graphics, sturdy gameplay and a very interesting story that will have both veterans and newcomers of Diablo III entertained and busy for months to come. With the possibility of reaching level 70 and the inclusion of fixes, tweaks and a new character, I for one cannot wait to get back into this game again because it's been far too long between drinks.

4.5 / 5.0 - Child of Light
May 3, 2014

Child of Light is a beautifully created game that looks like some lost fairy tale come to life. The UbiArt Engine really enhances the gaming experience, especially the stylised character design and wondrous environments. For a game that appears to be a platformer, Child of Light is definitely not but rather creates an engaging minimalist RPG title. The skills available for your characters are interesting and it's great that it does not limit what your character has access to. The turn based mechanics are solid and I love how Igniculus has the ability to disrupt your enemies turns. Most gamers should be able to polish off this game in around 12 or so hours but if you fight every battle, this will take longer.

Kinect Sports Rivals is a good game on the Xbox One but it's not the game that successfully turns Kinect into a true gaming medium. I'm sure this will come but for now, it is easily the best motion controlled game on any console and developers RARE have really thought outside the square in terms of translating these real world games onto the Xbox One console. Some games such as a soccer were a little too complicated, especially with the accuracy of the motion controls but other titles such as bowling and jet ski racing almost felt like the real thing.

3.8 / 5.0 - LEGO The Hobbit
Apr 14, 2014

LEGO The Hobbit is a fun game with a sturdy gaming engine but it definitely doesn't give this genre anything new. It features some fun cutscenes and follows the first two movies closely and hopefully once the final film has been released, we'll see some additional DLC. So yes, LEGO The Hobbit may not be the greatest game due to its repetition but the humour in the game is really first class and you cannot help but smile and laugh when the silliness begins!

Strike Suit Zero Director's Cut is a good game on the XBox One and if you have a hankering for this genre than I do suggest you check out this game. It may not be the most visually impressive game and the difficulty can be a challenge at times but even with its slight flaws, it's a fun game but just a tad repetitive. Nothing is more satisfying than seeing your shields at almost zero and then somehow saving the day with your amazing space craft.

3.5 / 5.0 - Yoshi's New Island
Apr 7, 2014

Yoshi’s New Island while harkening back to the previous titles does not bring much new to the series though it’s an excellent start for someone new to the series. This is not to say however that the game is bad, it is still a solid platformer and that might just be enough for the old hands of the series to pick it up. I definitely recommend it!

Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes is a good game and it's great to see this franchise on both the next-gen consoles. Given the lack of substance in the main campaign, this may deter quite a few players but thankfully the price is a lot lower than most other games on this system. Given that, I'm a little mixed about this game because on one hand, it's Metal Gear Solid but on the other, it's a little clunky and very short, even if you complete all the side quests.
