Synapse is a superb shooter that uses the PSVR2s capabilities to the fullest extent possible.
Out of the ten hours I spent playing Little Friends: Puppy Island, I think I must have spent at least seven of them just mindlessly trudging from one place to another. It feels like the game replicates a lot of the worst parts of owning a dog without capturing too much of what makes it fun, besides how darn cute the little guys are. I could look past some of its faults if it wasn't sold at nearly full price, but there is honestly not a single person on this planet that should pay that much for such a shallow and repetitive experience. If the price got cut in half, I might cautiously recommend it to kids that really love dogs and don't have one – that's honestly the only demographic of people I could see finding some enjoyment out of Little Friends: Puppy Island. To anyone else, I recommend going outside if you desire a good walking simulator.
Front Mission: 1st Remake has everything that a fan of the series would want with improvements to both the visuals and UI. The game is approachable and the difficulty can be toned down if needed. Hopefully this game will sell well enough that we will see more of the Front Mission games come to the west.
Overall, while not without its faults, Master Detective Archives: RAIN CODE is still a highly enjoyable and ambitious game with a good narrative, a mostly lovely aesthetic, and fun gameplay elements. It isn't a game I'd recommend to everyone, but it at least provides an engaging experience for mystery and Danganronpa fans alike.
Overall, Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg is an excellent remake of a great game. While some of the elements of the game don't carry over well for modern players, I still enjoyed my time with it as it excels at allowing players to spend time engrossed in its world through several engaging and relaxing elements in a way that only good retro JRPGs can. As such, if you're a fan of the atelier series or just good, relaxing RPG experiences then Atelier Marie Remake is for you.
Would I recommend Killer Frequency? Yep… even if you aren't really a horror fan (like me)… this isn't really the adrenaline pumping stuff… it's far more the "horror comedy" style and those semi cartoon style visuals do help take some of the edge off the tension. It's not a bad price but replay value isn't super high (unless you want to mess with the callers and find out what their fate is like if you choose different options). A fun game with an interesting style, grab it if you like your puzzle solving with some retro radio vibes.
Is it worth the purchase? Well if you don't have any Sonic games and either want to see what it's all about, or relive past glories… then certainly grab a copy. If you bought last years Sonic Origins then just have a look at what the differences are and determine if Plus really adds enough for you to fork out for it. But it's nice to be able to share some of my childhood with my children in a pretty decent modern remastered collection such as this.
Ultimately I do give credit for the restoration and remastering efforts… but unfortunately though you can polish a turd… at the end of the day, it's still a turd and bad acting, bad writing and pretty awful staging means this is really only a title for people who can find the humour in things that are really terrible… I'm just not one of those people.
Homeseek is a punishingly bleak post-apocalyptic city builder where every action feels consequential.
Ghost Trick Phantom detective was one of the best games on the DS and is now one of the best games on modern hardware.
Two fun and action filled games! The first Tomb Raider game released for Switch should delight both new and old fans of the series.
Because you shouldn’t play Redfall. It is a middling game at best, but at worst it will take precious time away from other games, hobbies, or conversations you could be having that will hold so much more meaning than this release.
A surprise I never thought would work so well. Kinda like the Wumpa Bazooka, it doesn't make sense, but somehow, it just works!
River City Girls 2 is a superb sequel that builds on the already brilliant original in small but meaningful ways.
We Love Katamari Reroll+ Royal Reverie is challenging and crazy in the best possible way.
While there's some gameplay issues here and there, Amnesia: The Bunker is a short, tense, claustrophobic experience that's well worth your time.
As a complete package Sonic Origins Plus is a decent collection for series fans and newcomers alike. But as a DLC its merely a collection of curios you can probably do without.
Pixel Ripped 1978 is a fun look back to a special time in the world of gaming that is as irreverent as it is entertaining.
At the core of AEW Fight Forever is the No Mercy Successor wrestling fans have been waiting for. The question is whether you want that. I know I do.
With big improvements, yet still some solid flaws, F1 2023 comes up pretty strong but still with a lot of room to grow.
