Beenox still hasn't seemed to grasp what everyone wants from a Spider-Man game and I still can't tell if it's because of their rushed development time that's the issue or the developers themselves. Fans of Spider-Man will still likely find some enjoyment here since the web swinging, while still nowhere near as good as past games, is definitely a step up from modern Spider-Man titles.
Second Son is a fantastic game that improves upon its predecessor in almost every way but a weak story, repetitive side missions, and an even weaker cast of side characters keep it from being something truly amazing.
Lords of Shadow 2 is a competent, and sometimes great, action game that's unfortunately bogged down by some horrid tacked on stealth moments and a story that doesn't really seem to know what it wants. Fans of the previous game will likely enjoy the game though and I'm sure anyone who's looking for a solid action game will find something enjoyable here if they can rough it through the shaky opening.
January had quite a surprising amount of turn based strategy RPG's release and despite its slight flaws Blackguards is definitely one you should play.
Episode One of The Wolf Among Us is dark and beautiful at the same time. The game scratches a crime noir itch even though the detective work is on the lighter side. While we will have to wait until the end of the season to see how impactful the different decision branches are, Telltale does a great job at making the choices feeling meaningful while not presenting a clear path. The voice acting is strong, the art is beautiful. If you like adventure games with a dark story, it would be remiss of you to not play The Wolf Among Us.
Rayman Legends is a game that deserves to be played by everyone. The art style and music are some of my favorite from this generation, and compliment each other outstandingly. If you are looking to get the best experience grab the 360 or PS3 version, but the Vita and Wii U versions are only slightly inferior. The extensive amount of content will make sure you lose yourself for days.
Deadpool is a solid enough action game, but if Deadpool himself isn't your cup of tea you might not want to bother picking this game up.
Neverwinter isn't going to be that game that pulls me into the MMO world, but it did a damn better job than many other MMO's out there. The setting is interesting enough and the combat slightly engaging which makes it worth giving a try, but it's going to be the Foundry that keeps players going.
Like I said, Anomaly 2 is pretty much more Anomaly but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Anomaly 2 will scratch that itch you likely have for reverse tower defense games and with a longer campaign, new units, plus multiplayer you'll definitely be satisfied with what this game brings to the table.
