Welcome to the galaxy far far away where you must don the suit of a pilot for either the New Republic or the Empire as you battle across the galaxy for the fate of the galaxy as you know it.
13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is a narrative that's familiar, dense, mysterious, and groundbreaking. While it's strategy RPG combat could use more depth, it's story encapsulates the appeal of video games.
Welcome to the Avengers Initiative where you will be tasked to head from one end of a post A day globe to another taking down threats to the peace and to bring AIM to its knees in an effort to bring the Avengers back from the shadows.
Hotshot Racing is an enjoyable return to the simplistic arcade racer and a damned good one. It's just you, your car, and a mad dash from start to finish, jamming to some tunes while trying not to get smashed by your opponents. If you're a fan of arcade racers, give Hotshot Racing a try.
Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1+2 is the remaster that gets just about everything right. The graphics are amazing, the skaters are here from both games alongside some newer skaters from the modern era, the gameplay is lifted from the best games in the series with the option to customize things to your liking, and the music brings that good wave of nostalgia that the series is famous for. Though there are some missteps here and there, the remaster is right up there in the realm of the best remasters available for any video game. Working nostalgia into a very satisfying recreation of two of the best games in the genre is something that will have you smiling from game to game.
Samurai Jack Battle Through Time brings us back to the future (and the past) one last time for one last grand Samurai Jack adventure. There’s a lot to appreciate here, but there are some pitfalls that will weigh down players and thus water down the experience.
Easily the best out of the two expansions, yet again, one that ends all too soon. I need more!
If you can overcome these flaws, then you will have a fun, frantic game. Aim for the crown and don't get eliminated!
It's still hard to believe that Mortal Shell is Cold Symmetry's first game, as this game rivals many AAA games. Everything in the game screams quality, from the gameplay to the art and sound direction. As a long time fan of Soulslike games, Mortal Shell has shot to the top of my favorite game lists and I can't wait to see what the devs do next. If you enjoy these sorts of games like I do, I recommend giving Mortal Shell a try.
CARRION is a game that only someone associated with the madhouse publisher that is Devolver Digital could create.
Paper Mario's latest outing on the Nintendo Switch is a very charming but shallow adventure in a gorgeous, handcrafted world.
Step into the beautifully realised island of Tsushima as you fight with every trick in the book to free your ancestral home from the Mongol hoard with blood, sweat and a lot of backstabbing.
Panzer Paladin is a combination of games from the past that were the best of the best, with slight improvements tossed in for good measure. If you're a fan of the action-platformer genre, there's something here to enjoy, a casual or hardcore gamer. This is perhaps Tribute Games' best title to date and it shows. Amazing and fun gameplay, the level design is top-notch and the chiptunes were enjoyable.
Shantae And The Seven Sirens brings some very nice additions to the franchise like cutscenes, voice acting, and more. But it comes at a cost because they expanded a bit too much, and the game suffers as a result.
The Last of Us Part II is a gripping masterpiece that's full of consequences and emotion. Naughty Dog's farewell to the PlayStation 4 is not to be missed.
Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition has been a long time coming in many ways. And for those who haven't gotten to play as Shulk and his allies before, now is definitely the time! It's not perfect, but it's still a game that you'll want to check out and see just how incredible the original Xenoblade Chronicles is!
Disintegration is the effort of combing a First Person Shooter and an RTS together, something that has been tried in the base with moderate success. Here, V1 Interactive takes the concept one step further with several new ideas, yet ultimately aren't all fleshed out. I'm looking forward to seeing if and how the developer will correct these concerns in either a DLC or the follow-up to the game.
If the zany story started in Mortal Kombat 11 was the main course, then Aftermath is the dessert that makes the entire ordeal completely worthwhile. Not only do we get an epic conclusion, but also three new characters to play with and several amazing stages. Sure it may be a bit overpriced, but if there's one thing to be said here, it's that Netherrealm Studios really has mastered their craft, both with the storytelling and with crafting an enjoyable fighting title.
Sakura Wars is a flawed action game but incredibly satisfying visual novel. It warmed my heart and compelled me to keep playing despite its shortcomings as an action game.
Money aside, Street Fighter V: Championship Edition doesn’t do much to fix a long list of problems that the fighting game community has pointed out about this game since the beginning and doesn’t look like they’ll do anything about it either. Long term fans will know to avoid this like the plague, diehards would have all of the content already at triple the price, and newcomers are smart for waiting out to buy this game cheap.
