Critic Reviews for Remnant From The Ashes - Subject 2923
While it's a shame that Gunfire Games haven't worked out the best method in presenting a character-led story in this formula of game, it doesn't tarnish too much how enjoyable and tempting Remnant is to go again at its campaign efforts over and over.
Adding plenty of new content and lore to enhance the story of the original game, Subject 2923 is an excellent expansion for Remnant: From the Ashes.
Remnant's story conclusion ends with more of a whimper than a bang. The core gameplay remains solid, but the new additions fail to impress.
As a conclusion to Remnant: From the Ashes narrative, Subject 2923 is mediocre, but more than makes up for this fault by introducing a wealth of lore for purists, a solid new biome with a fantastic variety of secrets to discover, and exceptional new boss battles. The story may not be the greatest, yet Subject 2923 manages to conclude Remnant with a bang, not a whimper.
Whilst the environments of Reisum and the bosses in the Subject 2923 DLC are some of the best in the game, the opening of the DLC and the overall package doesn't feel like a satisfying end to Remannt's story, making it a fine add-on for hardcore players, but not offering much reason for lapsed players to come back.
Subject 2923 stumbles in a few spots but overall does an excellent job of wrapping up the story of Remnant: From the Ashes and offers a short but sweet conclusion for the survivors of Earth.
Subject 2923 adds more loot and a brand new planet called Reisum. The new locale is fun to explore, and the boss fights and enemies are even better.
Easily the best out of the two expansions, yet again, one that ends all too soon. I need more!
