Fairy Tail: Dungeons is a fantastic time for Fairy Tail or Deckbuilding Roguelike fans.
Birth By Sleep Final Mix was a game I really wanted to enjoy, but with huge shifts in the gameplay, a nonsensical story at times, and a trio of main characters that I didn't care much for, the game barely held my interest, and it was a relief to be done with it.
Mika And The Witch’s Mountain is Kiki’s Delivery Service as a video game. You get to deliver packages and fly around. It is fun but can be frustrating.
Monster Monpiece is a very engaging time. It is easy to lose yourself in the game when it comes to playing it.
Cygni: All Guns Blazing, developed by KeelWorks and released by Konami, is a visually stunning vertical shmup with twin-stick shooter mechanics. While it offers full freedom of movement and innovative power management between shields and missiles, it has a few drawbacks such as lengthy stages and inconsistent difficulty spikes. Despite some frustrating elements, its cinematic presentation and engaging gameplay mechanics make it a noteworthy addition to Konami’s Shmup catalog. If you’re a fan of shmups looking for something fresh, Cygni: All Guns Blazing is worth checking out.
Star Wars Bounty Hunter Remastered features a notable visual upgrade and refined controls compared to its original release. Fans of Star Wars Legends stories will find the plot, set before some of the prequel films, quite engaging. However, a few technical issues that persisted from the original release remain unaddressed, which can be frustrating at times. Despite this, they don’t detract significantly from the overall experience if you can work around them. Overall, Star Wars Bounty Hunter remains enjoyable to play and revisit, offering some bonus content for fans.
Princess Maker 2 Regeneration is a solid rendition of Princess Maker 2 with a variety of improvements to the art and dialogue. I do wish for more improvements that utilize QoL changes.
Fate Seeker II is a solid game to add to the collection for those who are fans of the locales of China. It has an engaging story with a lot of different types of games inside its core that make it fun to play. The PS5 release may not be the greatest due to issues of moving a PC game to a console, but it is still a solid game.
Spy X Anya: Operation Memories is a faithful recreation of Spy X Family with its visual design and premise. It however is a game that if you aren’t a fan of this series will not interest people in trying out the source material.
The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak gives us a new area of Zemuria and a lot of new characters to love. Van Arkride is a great character and I hope to see more of him going forward.
Shin Megami Tensei V: Vengeance has cleared up every issue I had with the original game and then added even more awesomeness to the package. Well worth the purchase.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree was worth the wait and then some. While I said this was FromSoftware’s most ambitious DLC yet, and that’s not hyperbole. If you enjoyed Elden Ring, you’ll love everything about this DLC. Savor it since Hidetaka Miyazaki has said there won’t be more content after this.
NeoSprint has some good things that arcade racing fans will appreciate. It's a refreshing take on a very classic series for Atari. Getting into a race alone or with others is easy, and there's plenty of racing to be done. But a lack of online multiplayer and a slim picking of items at the start can be a real drag. But there's a variety of tracks and an interesting track editor that will keep players busy for a long while.
XDefiant is off to a good start, but to compete with the likes of Call of Duty or Overwatch, it still needs some tweaks and additional content.
Night Springs is the rare DLC that both retains a bit of everything from its base game and improves upon it. Alan Wake 2 already has a lot going for it, but its first DLC has its characteristic cheesiness, creepiness, and cosmic-ness across three chapters. It runs a bit short, but it's a great supernatural sampler of Alan Wake at its best.
Paper Mario The Thousand-Year Door is everything you wanted it to be on Nintendo Switch and more. Numerous quality-of-life improvements and additions help make the game both more fun and accessible to gamers of all generations.
Combining the Star Wars franchise with arena shooter gameplay is an interesting idea. But the result in Star Wars: Hunters does not end up turning a great experience to play. Even the biggest fans of arena shooters will be disappointed by the poor execution of many things.
Hypercharge: Unboxed is a game that is going to fall under its own greatness. The gameplay is solid and a lot of fun, but there is little left for the game once you have unlocked everything except to play for the sake of it. A lack of DLC plans from the developer/publisher means this great game is going to die under the weight of its own promise.
Capes is a solid take on tactic-based gameplay in the world of superheroes. It can be a tad short but it's a great time throughout!
RKGK has a lot of heart and passion driving at the forefront. It can be fun for most of the casual experience, but once you get to the more precise mechanics, it can be frustrating.
