HomepageMarooners' Rock's Reviews
If you are a fan of RPGs and want to play something that mixes up the genre, I cannot recommend this game enough.
Despite is shortcomings, I strongly recommend it for its strengths, as well as the fact that there are no other space ship shooters available at the moment, outside of Elite Dangerous.
Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed Heave Ho and it is a game we cannot recommend enough.
House House knew exactly what game they wanted to make and delivered spectacularly in it.
As it stands however, Torchlight II, a good game, stays a good game but some key features feel missing in the transition to console in the seven years since the initial release.
Blair Witch is an improvement over Bloober Team’s past work and I hope to see them further explore more game mechanics in their titles. Even though they’re good at perception-altering visuals, I want to see them branch out more and more. I think that one day in the future, Bloober Team could release a truly knockout horror game.
Any Switch owner, interested in a well-polished shooter, should pick this up!
Ni No Kuni is the same game on the Switch as it was on PS3, with the added benefit of portability and an overall more stable experience.
Whipseey and the Lost Atlas looks and sounds like what I would want in a game emulating a classic platformer, but it lacks the finesse that made those platformers great to begin with.
Catherine: Full Body reminds me of everything I loved about Catherine while providing a new and enhanced experience.
If you are new to the Attack on Titan video game franchise, Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle is worth the $60 despite its few issues. The game provides hours of gameplay that is hard to find in other anime games.
Fans of puzzle games looking for a new challenge may find something to enjoy here. Casual puzzlers will probably be better served to pass on this one or wait for its inevitable inclusion in a future indie bundle.
Ultimately, Control is a really cool experience even with all of the flaws. I really liked the atmosphere of the Bureau and Jesse’s voice actor Courtney Hope did a terrific job. The ending is a trip, and the gameplay is fun, even if it’s slightly repetitive.
The Mana series is a piece of video game history and this collection is a definitive way to experience the first three titles of this phenomenal series.
While certainly playable as a solo experience, Remnant: From the Ashes truly shines as a cooperative multiplayer experience! Fans of Left 4 Dead, Monster Hunter, Destiny, and other cooperative driven games should definitely pick this up!
As a connoisseur of platformers, I knew I was going to like Reventure. What I didn’t know, was that I would constantly be thinking about it.
Lapis x Labyrinth is an excellent palate cleanser. I think the long haul of trying to actually finish the game could dip more into a mindless march, rather than the frantic energy the first time Fever Mode is activated, but the game overall can be a fun distraction in between more dramatic or demanding titles.
The Last Remnant Remastered is an overall good experience, provided you have the patience to leave the game to read up on things that would normally be included in-game in a more modern gaming experience, or in an in-game guide or manual in the past.
There are some cool ideas in Redeemer but they just don’t come together in an enjoyable way. Hopefully, a more refined sequel will put Vasily in a better light. For now, his defiant echoes through the mountains will likely fall on deaf ears.
I think that overall Ritual of the Night will satisfy longtime Castlevania fans. Despite the game’s performance hangups, there is a lot to love in this game. Yet, I am keeping my eyes towards the future, as this particular version is less than ideal
