Claybook is a game that could’ve easily built upon its foundation (like actual clay) with a little bit of better programming and the inclusion of more options. As it stands, the potential is there to be a truly great game, but it’s not quite strong enough to get there. Not yet, anyway.
We’ll see how Nightdive’s seemingly upward trend continues as they start bringing other Acclaim classics to the system but for now, we’re perfectly content with enjoying what Turok has to offer.
There’s nothing horribly wrong with the gameplay or the mechanics. It’s just kind of generic, an overgrown mobile game that can’t distinguish itself from the pack.
This chapter of the series has something to offer for everyone with its array of characters, unpredictable story and impressive combat. Don’t think about it, just jump in and enjoy the Devil Trigger goodness.
RemiLore would’ve gone much further with its journey if it had a fairer saving system and some form of evolution with its combat. But it’s not bad in its current form, with hours worth of combat-based gameplay to enjoy, along with a fun, bouncy visual style and humorous dialogue.
Trials Rising is the best Trials game to date. Building on an already well-established foundation, Trials Rising continues to outshine and outperform almost every other motocross game out there.
I think for those loving the retro-inspired genre Hive Jump is worth having. It’s not the type of title that will shatter expectations but it’s a solid release from Graphite Lab.
Kingdom Hearts 3 is rather enjoyable to play but it will end up being the black sheep of the Kingdom Hearts franchise.
At the end of the day, you can’t go wrong with Tales of Vesperia if you’re looking for a great RPG that isn’t Kingdom Hearts III.
YIIK does something different, taking some of the best memories of classic games, folding it in with brilliant writing, and creating one of the most evocative RPGs I’ve ever played that didn’t have “Final” in the title. For fans of the genre, great writing, or supernatural mystery, this game should be immediately on a lot of 2019 Must Play lists.
If you love Persona, definitely check out this collection. There’s a lot of fan service here, specifically made for you.
As a franchise reboot, Leisure Suit Larry: Wet Dreams Don’t Dry isn’t bad, but it feels like a lot of wasted opportunities.
2K19 may not be the best wrestling game in WWE franchise but it provides players with a decent enough wrestling simulation that they will be appeased for the current year.
If you have a fondness for West Virginia, love the Fallout theming, and can put up with a lot of frustrating bugs and design choices then Fallout 76 can provide lots of hours of Wasteland-stomping fun. Everyone else should probably wait for improvements.
The team from Gunfire Games really outdid themselves reviving the Darksiders franchise with this third addition to the series. Darksiders III on its own will please some fans, but even then I myself would wait until a possible price drop with the few flaws the game seems to fall short on.
For most players, Sonic Mania Plus is still a fun time, but for me, it’s one that I probably won’t pick up as often as others might. Personal criticisms aside, there is quality in Sonic Mania Plus and it’s one that I can easily recommend.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy is an amazing package at an amazing price.
For fans of mystery games and the lore of H.P. Lovecraft grab that Necronomicon and go nuts. For those who don’t fit into those categories, I’d recommend checking out a let’s play or two before diving into the madness.
All and all, this is a terrific port and Diablo herself couldn’t have asked for a better welcome to Nintendo’s hardware. Even if you’ve played this game to death, don’t underestimate how great it feels to senselessly destroy hordes of evil on the go.
If you’re a Call of Duty fan, Black Ops 4 is a MUST. It’s epic on a scale like unlike anything we’ve ever seen before and I haven’t been able to put it down.
