Forza Horizon 3 is an incredible game, and in my mind cements Forza Horizon as the current premier racing series.
From prisoner prosecutors to astronaut defendants, the Ace Attorney series has built a reputation on turning legal proceedings into over-the-top battles for the truth. You’d think after five games, three spinoffs (two of which we’re unlikely to see in the West) and one crossover, every possible plotline would be played out, but the writers behind Ace Attorney just keep coming up with new scenarios, new gimmicks and new memorable characters. In fact, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice proves the franchise still has a lot of life in it yet, and ranks among its best entries.
Overall ReCore is a compelling experience, not for its story or environments, but for its characters and art design.
Livelock is a solid, but unremarkable game on almost every front. It plays fine, it looks acceptable, it sounds alright and the story is serviceable.
Overall, Master of Orion is a good turn-based 4X strategy game, but it lacks the depth found in many other titles in the genre.
Cyan effortlessly weaves creativity the way other developers can only dream of, and I’m excited to see where they can go from here.
F1 2016 is the most comprehensive F1 experience yet.
In my eyes, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a must-buy title for anyone and everyone
By no means is No Man’s Sky a bad game, but it just isn’t an amazing one. That a team of 10 people could create the vast experience they have is an incredible feat and one that should never be downplayed, but I almost wish they hadn’t been so intent on creating such a giant experience.
This is what I want. It may not be what you want, but No Man’s Sky is what I want.
By narrowing their focus, Double Fine have crafted probably their most cohesive and mechanically sound game to date, one that takes its gimmicky concept and executes it to perfection.
ABZÛ is by no means bad. It's an admirable new studio first effort, one worth a dive for its technical, visual, and audio sensory pleasure that together succeed in offering a relaxing, zen-like experience.
Overall, I Am Setsuna is a compelling experience that all RPG fans should try, just be aware that it’s a more personal and linear experience, as opposed to an epic adventure around the world.
Tumblestone is an enjoyable puzzle game which has a unique take on the Match-Three puzzle genre. There are a lot of unwritten rules and strategies to discover, along with plenty of content including a single-player mode, online and local multiplayer, and an Arcade mode.
Overall, The Division: Underground is a great new way to play Tom Clancy’s The Division, and brings about a new sense of frenzied non-stop fighting and action that wasn’t always present in the slower story mission. The new loot and the constant rate it drops at keeps you willing to jump into the grind and makes you feel powerful. However, if you are a solo player or face a lot of network issues, you will likely be frustrated as you lose operations due to lag and cheap enemy deaths as enemies’ spawn behind you.
Overall, Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness is a step up from Star Ocean IV and also a step in the right direction for the series.
When the gameplay fails to hold your interest, and the presentation doesn't offer any impetus to continue, I find it hard to recommend Mighty No. 9.
We went deep into the despair and desolation of Playdead's Inside and found it to be one of the finest examples of emergent narrative there are.
There is some elementary adventure to be found here, but new players looking for a real Sherlock Holmes experience would find better material in some of the previous installments.
I think that there's the potential for a brilliant Mirror's Edge game in the future that has none of the flaws of Catalyst or its predecessor. Unfortunately, that isn't this game, and while I'm relatively satisfied with what's here, I will keep hoping for a genuinely great *Mirror's Edge* title.
