Crash Bandicoot returns in a remake of his first three original games. It comes with tight controls, a graphical update and various small improvements to make it a worthy package
Miitopia is a strange and creative game. It takes the kooky little Mii characters and brings a little extra dimension to them while remaining bizarre and entertaining. The RPG element of the game is lacklustre, but the interpersonal relationships and friendship bonds are what makes you want to keep playing.
Part crazy fighting game, part pachinko machine, ARMS could be the distraction you want in your life, if you can be bothered to learn the many intricacies by yourself through experimentation.
Rally simulation at it's finest with adjustable difficulty settings coupled with some fine dirt vehicles and diverse race courses. Off-road motorsport bliss.
If you dream of being on a Starfleet vessel, commanding the starship or punching it into warp, you won't find any better alternatives.
There is fun to be had if you’re a bonafide motorcross junkie. It’s not the step up you’d expect from the previous game, but if you want real bikes, names, gear and tracks you’ll get exactly that.
Tekken 7 is held back from being an epic fighting game by a lack of modes and clunky UI design, but the core game is beautiful, stable and an absolute joy to play and master. Prepare your thumbs for a serious workout.
It’s a celebration of speed, combat, beauty, electronic music, incredible track design and so much more, and it’s all been wrapped up in one Omega 4K and 60 fps package for you to enjoy. The PlayStation 4 now finally feels complete.
If you are craving something fresh, A New Frontier is not for you. By no means awful, if you can still drum up excitement for Telltale or The Walking Dead, it can still work.
From weapon skins to just spying someone doing something weird in a penthouse suite, there is a lot of fun to be had just exploring and enjoying the candy colours and music and getting lost in the crazy world of Tokyo 42.
This version is most definitely the definitive way of playing this series and a great addition to the collection
With Parenthood, I kept discovering new things the longer I played. If you’re going to pick up any DLC for The Sims 4, I’d highly recommend this one
Ultra Street Fighter II is a more than competent release, but if you’re a seasoned veteran it’s very difficult to recommend the move over to this update… even if the Switch hardware is perfect for this game.
I’ve found myself enjoying Injustice 2 far more than I expected to and this title definitely deserves your attention even if you’re only vaguely interested in the game.
For the casual zombie player it might be worth holding out for Call of Duty: WW2 and playing the new zombie mode that will be included with that instead
Endless Space 2 improves on the Endless format to bring a solid, enjoyable 4X experience to people without forcing them to get a degree in reading the game's manuals. Prepare for a lot of reading and learning though!
If you enjoyed Forza Horizon 3 then the Hot Wheels DLC is essential. It can definitely be improved on, but know that the wheels in this game are indeed hot.
I really enjoyed spending the 25 odd hours playing The Surge, even with it all its shortcoming and flaws. It just bothers me that I have this nagging feeling that it could’ve been a true masterpiece if it just lived up to its potential.
It’s unique, colourful and is great for short bursts of play. It’s simple enough for kids, and also complex enough for adults. Is it the next big hit? No.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia might be a complete remake of the Famicom’s Fire Emblem Gaiden released in 1992 but to western fans this is a completely new chapter in the Fire Emblem series that cannot be missed.
