Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin yields a unique blend of farming simulation and action-platforming that manages to be a filling meal without providing much valuable nutrients. For the most part, the two gameplay styles work off each other in harmony, but each have individual faults injecting tedium into the experience. Thankfully, the art style, story, and characters are all rich enough to carry the game through any dry spell.

7 / 10.0 - Dreamo
Nov 30, 2020

This story-puzzler from Hypnotic Ants is many things: a beautiful, low-poly portal into the mind, satisfying gear-based puzzles that feel good to solve. But throughout the game, things feel just too disjointed, and that's what ultimately holds DREAMO back.

6 / 10.0 - YesterMorrow
Nov 29, 2020

YesterMorrow is the tale of Yui, who must go back and forth between her past and present to try and change the course of history, using her abilities to tackle a number of challenges of beautiful but boring puzzles and challenges. YesterMorrow feels like a case of wasted potential - its an interesting concept with too little substance.

8.5 / 10.0 - WARTILE
Nov 18, 2020

Wartile impresses with its unique take on a cooldown-based tactics game. The visual presentation, assortment of levels, and replayability are great to see, but while the move to Nintendo Switch might open the game up to more players, the smaller screen could also be a detriment.

Supermassive's next installment in their scary anthology series Little Hope is a short but spooky tale. It's a step up from its previous title but still has yet to reach the level that Until Dawn set. With a cast of five characters to play from, co-op is the best way to play. It excels at telling an interesting narrative but after 4 short hours it doesn't stand out in much else.
