2 / 10.0 - Of Bird and Cage
May 28, 2021

Of Bird and Cage is a narrative-driven game mixing first-person shooter, environmental puzzle, walking-simulator, driving, platformer, and boxing mechanics - all hammered into the shape of a roughly two-hour-long metal album. A valiant effort by a fledgeling studio with some serious star-power providing tunes to match. But, how does it all fit together?

3 / 10.0 - Sanity of Morris
Apr 15, 2021

Although Sanity of Morris may have some interesting ideas for plot and gameplay mechanics, it fails to execute any of its concepts. Throughout its three levels, the game fails to keep an atmosphere of suspense or provide any consistent scares, to the point where boredom, rather than fear, will stop you from playing.

Introducing A Very Bad Christmas Eve, just in time for the holidays! Make presents as Santa's last hope to save Christmas, but do it fast; time is not on your side. This game has a cute premise and has charming music to go with it. However, it just didn't hit the mark for me. It left a sour taste in my mouth and definitely didn't put me in the Christmas spirit.

Get ready to hit the court and climb up the competitive ladder to become one of the greatest tennis players of all time. While Tennis World Tour 2 could provide deep and rewarding gameplay, its passable controls hinder the player's enjoyment and turns a possibly great game into a frustrating experience.

We desperately wanted to love Super Dungeon Bros. The characters are phenomenal, and the game's design is something to remember. Unfortunately, the rest of the game is let down by sub-par gameplay mechanics, unbalanced weapons and a complete lack of variety. Playing the solo campaign starts out too easy and quickly becomes way too difficult for one person to handle which means you'll need to play with your friends to get the most out of this game. Unfortunately, there have been numerous reports of issues with the multiplayer mode such as no players being available to join a game or the game itself constantly freezing up. It does seem like the developers have cleared most of these up but even when running smoothly, the multiplayer mode does little to excite.

4 / 10.0 - Pendragon
Oct 6, 2020

From Inkle, the creators of Heaven’s Vault and 80 Days, comes Pendragon, a rogue-like narrative strategy game. It hopes to blend writing and gameplay, to constantly have one influence the other. While it succeeds in some ways, it falls short in so many others.

4 / 10.0 - Shred! 2
May 7, 2020

Shred! 2 is a mountain bike Trials-inspired game that lets you pull off crazy stunts at the expense of a young adult's bruised body. But is it any good? It also came out on mobile about 2 years ago. Has the console version improved on it? Find out with our XB1 Shred 2 review.

4.5 / 10.0 - Eggcelerate!
Mar 30, 2022

This title just doesn't bring enough to the indie market for the price it's being sold at. If at all possible, my final suggestion would be trying to get a mobile version up and running. I really think Eggcelerate! would crush it on the IOS and Android markets. However, as it stands now, the Winter Expansion doesn't really add enough to justify paying $8 for it, the base game feels more like trial-and-error than a test of skill, and there's little to no reason for me to beat the allotted time in this time trial racer. Pick it up if it seems fun, but I would recommend waiting for improvements.

4.5 / 10.0 - Lust From Beyond
Mar 13, 2021

Since its first appearance on Kickstarter, Lust from Beyond drew the attention of horror fans with bold sexual themes. The trailers, which left little room for imagination—lecherous bodies, ready to offer themselves with screams of pleasure—gave the impression of a simple desire of hype. Now, let's find out if Movie Games met the expectations of its donors.

The grand historical strategy of Romance of the Three Kingdoms has had a rocky history. At its best, it is a dramatic, frantic, and tense strategy game that can compete with the best. At its worst, it focuses on dull mechanics and banal world conquering. So, where does the fourteenth instalment sit? Grand strategy or dull micro-managing?

4.5 / 10.0 - Plastic Rebellion
Sep 23, 2020

Detalion Games’s Plastic Rebellion takes Tower Defense and FPS mechanics and shrinks them down to toy size. The result is a charming - yet deeply flawed - three to four hour game. Set up your defenses, break out your NERF… sorry, I mean, FERN gun and help the green army men beat the black army men. A thoroughly nostalgic experience to many readers, I’m sure.

4.5 / 10.0 - 21 Steps to Soul
Feb 7, 2017

The most important thing to keep in mind when you're considering whether to buy this game is to know what you're getting yourself in for. If you don't play this kind of games normally, then we can say with a strong degree of confidence that you will not enjoy this. If, however, you're a seasoned veteran of these 'hardcore' platformers and have a spare hundred hours or so, then we encourage you to try it out after vetting it on YouTube to see for yourself the level of difficulty this one manages to bestow upon itself.

Starpoint Gemini Warlords brings an interesting dynamic of gameplay and mechanics due to the fact that it incorporates a crossover of genres that go from RPG to a 4X-based style. On the other hand, there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to audio features. This negative aspect of the game, aligned with the lack of depth in the characters background, can make it hard to stay engaged for long periods of time. Despite the listed issues, Starpoint Gemini Warlords succeeds in offering different quest options presented in either a story-campaign mode or an exciting free-roam scenario. Overall the best element found in Starpoint is the extensive array of features it combines to create a complete space exploration.
