The Last of Us Part 2 elevates every element of its predecessor and more. Three pillars make what games are: technology, an art form, and of course, a game for people to play and enjoy. It hits all of those notes and more.
To celebrate the 35th anniversary of the most famous video game of all time, Nintendo gives Mario a totally fresh twist in Super Mario Bros 35. This game has been re-released and ported nearly a dozen times in the past, so is this version really anything special? Mamma mia, is it ever!
On the surface, Hadr is a simple indie game. But the deeper you get into the game, the better the experience gets. Hadr is a small game of refined tastes and it is unlike any other puzzle game seen. So what makes it so special? Time to find out with a Hadr game review!
What senses do you need when driving a car? Sight and Hearing are pretty much it, right? Let's take out sight and watch the mayhem unfold. Blind Drive is an arcade racer where you only have your trusty ears to drive to safety. Check out this Blind Drive Game Review for some impressions!
Enhanced with fantastic and fresh content, Disco Elysium: The Final Cut is a game that dances through the vulgar and the sublime in an experience that excels in delivering superb storytelling with compelling gameplay mechanics; it’s a hallmark of the genre that deserves every ounce of credit attributed to it.
The Ramp is a minimalistic, bite-sized skateboarding title from Hyperparadise. With stripped-down controls and nothing to unlock, it captures the core essence of skating. Dropping into the game is as easy and satisfying as dropping into a real half-pipe, and you’ll keep coming back for more.
We had a lot of skepticism and kept our hype in check, but in the end we can't deny that Breath of the Wild took our breath away hour after joyous hour. With a ton of great content and gameplay, along with polish that you just don't see much of anymore, we just might have another Nintendo classic on our hands.
They'll take your heart. Atlus has launched the bar into the stratosphere by creating what is undoubtedly one of PS4's best games and what is potentially the game of the year. Whether it's battling and collecting demons throughout dungeons or simply going on a date in Akihabara, whatever Persona 5 throws at you, it does so with unmatched style and expert quality.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 is here! A highly-anticipated sequel that absolutely wrecked it's Kickstarter goals to deliver an unparalleled role playing experience that will have you calling in sick to work just to play it. It's just that good.
Soul-reaping doesn't seem to be a tedious job, but Death's Door shines a light upon the fictitious scenario in which the afterlife is bureaucratized. In a world where death came to a halt, an unlikely eulogy holds little to no meaning. Living forever has become the norm, a fever dream come true.
If you like mysteries, sci-fi, or puzzle adventure games, you will enjoy Subject 13. We are very impressed with what the developers have created and look forward to their next work.
LUNA: The Shadow Dust is a hand-drawn, story-driven puzzle game that is sure to catch attention, and even trigger some tears. LUNA is more than just a game; it is an artistic creation. Between its music and artwork, and its touching, unique story, this game offers much more than your typical PC game.
The charm of a beautifully-rendered forest world and its adorable denizens belies a challenging Metroidvania experience in Ori and the Blind Forest: Definitive Edition, an updated re-release of the 2015 indie hit. Will you be able to restore light to the forest, or will you fall prey to the razor-sharp talons of the dreaded Kuro?
Super Mario is back! Jump into a fun adventure that combines best parts of previous Mario games and adds a few excellent mechanics that further elevate what was already a juggernaut of platforming experience. Odyssey puts Super into Super Mario.
Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire is an absolute joy of a game and any negatives are ultimately nitpicking because they don't lessen the experience substantially. If you play games for their narrative, this one should be on your must play list as it brings an immersive, interesting and engaging story filled to the brim with interesting and multilayered characters and locations. The game can take you anywhere from 40 to well over a 100 hours, depending on the difficulty and your style of play. Suffice it to say that a couple of years ago I didn't actually like isometric RPGs but games like these are reason enough to turn anyone into an unflinching fan.

Final Fantasy XVI is the definitive real-time combat experience of the series. It expands the horizons of the franchise and mixes the concepts of RPG and Hack & Slash into one masterpiece. Being by far the most epic installment of the franchise yet, it delivers an astonishing soundtrack, a dark-themed story with deep characters and relationships, and an unmatched feeling in combat that even the most experienced will be in awe with.
Monster Hunter World is a game-changer. It gives players an unprecedented amount of quality and lets them ride the incredibly fulfilling rollercoaster of gameplay all the way; until the very last upgrade. World is also a very personal journey of evolving your character and feeling every adversity that you choose to face. You will feel every triumph, recover steadily from every failure, and never feel your time is wasted. There may be a couple of glaring flaws such as the weak story and poor multiplayer matchmaking mechanics, but they pale in comparison to the greatness of the game. When another monster saves you at the last vestiges of your health, know that it is a dynamic and non-scripted game; when you have access to every weapon at the start, know that this is a game from a respected franchise that has retained its quality and player-driven content since the beginning. I will be on my two-hundredth quest and still know that, in my mind, Monster Hunter World is masterful.
Shadow of the Colossus has been my most favorite revisiting of a game in a long time. In a sea of quickly packaged remasters that only slightly improve, this one is a shining beacon of how to refresh the game right as every aspect that could be improved - was. All the while, the game didn't lose what made it special in the first place and became an even more essential part of the PlayStation library.
Batman: The Telltale Series Episode 1: Realm of Shadows does a great job in getting the series off to a tremendous start. Telltale Games has proven it can handle known properties by creating stellar sound and music in addition to their unique vision. As always, story driven games require a great story and the developer definitely did not disappoint in this department. My only concern is that the quality and depth of the overall experience would somehow recede in future episodes. Nevertheless, the future looks bright until proven otherwise.
