80 / 100 - Windjammers
Aug 30, 2017

Windjammers is easy to pick up and play, but difficult to master, which adds to its addictive qualities. It's best played with other gamers, but also offers single-player experiences.

81 / 100 - Songbringer
Aug 30, 2017

Songbringer is a beautiful and vast procedurally generated wonderland created by developer Wizard Fu. If you crammed the original Zelda and Dark Souls into a jar and then poured a procedurally generated fluid over the top, you’d have Songbringer. This game will have you locked in for hours with adventure, action, and a little frustration for good measure.

78 / 100 - Absolver
Aug 29, 2017

Absolver does a great job of throwing a wrench in conventional fighting game mechanics. Building your own combat deck, using real martial arts styles and utilizing stylized graphics sets Absolver apart from the crowd. Not being able to use a map or knowing how strong your enemies will be sometimes made the game a little less desirable to play though.

This has got to be one of the most fun survival/crafting games since Minecraft. With the dinosaurs, diverse crafting options and detailed graphics, Ark truly delivers an immersive experience. Taming time, limited player space and a HUGE (too big) open world are things that Studio Wildcard could look to change, without altering server settings.

96 / 100 - Sonic Mania

If Christian Whitehead just keeps making new Sonic levels, and SEGA lets him head more games, then the future of Sonic will be bright. Hats off to you, Mr. Whitehead.

The third episode of Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy series puts a heavy focus on the relationship between Gamora and Nebula, which offers more than a few major decision points that will effectively change how your experience plays out. It's a solid episode, which happens to have a bit of a pacing issue.

9 / 10.0 - Observer

"Observer is my favorite horror game of 2017 so far. It’s enthralling, disturbing, and makes you want to explore every corner of the building and scan every little thing."

There are also areas of each map that have an anti-gravity zone which turns each game up to 11!

Each agent comes with their own personality and back story. Each time you do a mission to unlock a new agent, you get a nice little introduction to who they were before everything went to shit.

The Enigma is a great starting point for Telltale's new season of its Batman series. It has plenty of content, action, albeit in QTE form, and a great narrative that is only the start of this season's nefarious arc.

The classes will determine the abilities you can use on the ships and on ground combat. Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition is a great space based strategy game!

'Sundered' is an experience to behold, and it features a deep character build system, gorgeous hand drawn art and animations, and wonderfully hectic and fun combat.

If you want a good, mindless brawler, pick this game up, but if you want a deep story and more varied gameplay look elsewhere.

Each character has their own unique design, from a frog that knows karate to an assassin named Tripp that uses lightning to her advantage.

60 / 100 - Smashbox Arena
Jul 27, 2017

Smashbox Arena features a cool concept of playing futuristic dodgeball in a virtual setting, but its execution is off just enough to make the experience feel mediocre at best.

80 / 100 - SUPERHOT (VR)
Jul 26, 2017

I was a huge fan of the original SUPERHOT, and now after playing the VR version, which is an entirely new experience, my fandom has only been strengthened for this unique FPS puzzle game. Let’s just say it definitely can make you feel like Neo dodging bullets in the Matrix, and for me that’s enough of a reason alone to try it out. With that being said you should still check out my full review below in video or scripted format.

80 / 100 - Archangel

Archangel VR is a legit video game from Skydance Interactive that is much more than a glorified tech demo, which most VR games seem to be these days.

88 / 100 - Serial Cleaner
Jul 11, 2017

Serial Cleaner came out of left field for me. It is the first indie puzzle game to really make me love the story. I felt for the characters and their relationships. The gameplay presents challenge and diversity. The only let down was that the AI was pretty dumb when it came to finding me.
