Nathaniel Smyth's Reviews
"When a little girls asks you to get her teddy bear from a nest of giant, evil bat mutants, YOU GET THAT TEDDY BEAR."
"A great psychological horror game with a few setbacks that keep it from being truly amazing. Fans of Cthulhu mythos will probably get an extra kick out of it."
"Black Ops 4 is worth giving a damn about, every mode is, at worst, solid, and at best, simply an amazing experience."
"If you like going fast and blowing stuff up, then this game is for you without a shadow of a doubt!"
“You walk around inside a strangely colored swamp/forest/cave/mountain and touch glowing things to go to the next area.”
A decent game that could be great if they ironed out the bugs and added a couple extra modes to keep things fresh longer.
"Mulaka starts off promising but quickly plateaus for about five hours and then just kinda ends."
This is just a terrible entry in the long-running series and deserves to be completely forgotten. Boring, riddled with bugs, and lazily made, it makes me miss the older games.
"This Redux was really just one of the least-needed things of the year, or decade even. The updated graphics are hardly an update, and the dated, clunky gameplay is just not fun to experience anymore."
"The Evil Within 2 is a pretty average horror game. It's just fine, it's not offensively bad, it's not earth-shatteringly original. It's just serviceable, though the dialogue and writing leaves a lot to be desired."
"Play this game. It’s a bloody, brutal, retro-fueled blast!"
If Christian Whitehead just keeps making new Sonic levels, and SEGA lets him head more games, then the future of Sonic will be bright. Hats off to you, Mr. Whitehead.
"Observer is my favorite horror game of 2017 so far. It’s enthralling, disturbing, and makes you want to explore every corner of the building and scan every little thing."
"This game is a symphony of shit, and the crescendo is having a hernia trying to push said shit out."
"If you own a PS4, I don’t care if you played the originals or not, now is the time to invest in Crash Bandicoot."
Cute, cubic, and challenging!
"Jet Moto and SSX go home drunk together. Riptide GP: Renegade shows up 9 months later."
Well, we did a Dark Souls thing, so let's do an Infinity Blade thing, I guess.
"MMPR Mega Battle is a quick, little gift to fans of the series, but it falls short in a handful of ways that will most likely disappoint fans."
Dead Rising 4 is a good game. It's not great, and it's not bad—it's just good. Killing zombies is fun, the story isn't bad, and Frank is fun to play as with his sense of humor and "smart-ass but slightly aging journalist" schtick. It's just a bit too easy to really suck you into the gameplay, and the multiplayer is forgettable at best. You'll either love it for Frank's character and killing zombies with new toys, or you'll hate it for getting rid of your favorite features. Either way, it's an important entry in the series for Capcom Vancouver to learn what works and what doesn't.
