8 / 10.0 - Neverwinter
Apr 3, 2015

All together, Neverwinter's port to the console is a great addition to the Xbox's repetoir, and may possibly be a console seller for some.

9 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat X
Apr 12, 2015

Mortal Kombat X is another solid entry into the Mortal Kombat series, I thought it would be hard to top Mortal Kombat 9 but Neatherrealm Studio's proved me wrong with this excellent game. The story mode is good, the amount of content will keep you coming back for months, the finishing moves are as brutal as ever! It's everything I wanted Mortal Kombat X to be and then some. If you are a fan of Mortal Kombat then this is the easiest purchase of the year for you, if you aren't a fan of fighting games then I'd still recommend it because of how fun the game is. To sum this all up… Go buy Mortal Kombat X on Tuesday you won't be disappointed.

5 / 10.0 - Tower of Guns
Apr 14, 2015

While this game does have some of replay ability. It's more in the line of trying to beat your time than actually adding new material to the gameplay. For a price of 15 dollars this game does not have the depth that it needs to sustain a purchase. While this game does have a good concept the execution is lackluster and is a wasted opportunity on a new take on gaming.

Rockstar delayed the release of the enhanced GTA V on the PC by several months, and now that it is released, it's easy to see why. In bringing what is essentially a flawless game to the PC, they have understood the most important aspect of porting over any console game to the PC: control. The ability for players to control even the most seemingly benign setting of their game is crucial to any decent PC port. Combined with its superior visuals, movie making tools and flawless controls, Grand Theft Auto V on the PC is with little argument the best way to experience this acclaimed title.

7 / 10.0 - Mortal Kombat X
Apr 17, 2015

Mortal Kombat X in the end is an excellent fighting game, as many will tell you. It is not, however, the greatest PC Port, as it lacks any clear advantages over its console counterparts and also has a number of technical problems that are unique to the platform.

It's been almost 2 years since I originally reviewed this excellent game, and playing it once again on the Xbox One has reminded me how good this game was when it was first released. It still holds up as one of the best zombie video game titles out there today. It's held back due to some technical issues that have also made the jump from 360 to Xbox One. If you have never played State Of Decay, and you own a Xbox One then now is the time to play one of the best survival zombie games ever made.

Overall, however, Crypt of the Necrodancer is a solid game that is easily recommendable to just about anyone. Although it consists of twelve brief levels, each of these levels are randomly generated and, if you want, can be played to your own custom music, rather than the game's own soundtrack. The game's ability to map out the rhythm of whatever song you select from your music library is great, but it's highly recommended that you select songs that have distinct rhythm and manageable tempos (My attempt at playing the game using Fredrik Thorendal's Herr Faust, for example, ended in complete disaster). This well-thought out element of the game ensures that players will have potentially unlimited amounts of replay from this indie game, and with Steam Workshop support, there's so much that can be done within Crypt's simple but effective gameplay. Crypt of the Necrodancer is a fine, fine game that serves as yet another example of what game developers can do when they are free to take creative risks and try new things out, and as such, it deserves both your time and money.

Shadowrun Chronicles is not necessarily a game that can stand on its own merits; it exists to fulfill the lack of multiplayer in the Shadowrun series, and while it does this rather well, players approaching this game from an uninformed position should do so only once they've become fully aware of what they'd be getting themselves into. In short: do not play this game by yourself. If you prefer a singleplayer experience, play Shadowrun Returns or Dragonfall, or even the upcoming Hong Kong.

The Witcher 3 still triumphs as one of the greatest RPGs ever made, largely on the strength of its complex characters and first rate storytelling. There is no shortage of narratives to uncover and activities to partake in that all feel unique and lack the canned, recycled feel that has plagued other open world games like Watch_Dogs, Far Cry 4 and Dying Light.

It's definitely an experience we haven't really seen on the consoles to date, but one that is a tough thing to manage with the repetitive nature of the game. That being said, I'm sure there will be a good portion of people who will genuinely enjoy everything about making their own farm and watching it grow, as it's so simple to pick up.

Ultimately, there is so much content in this game and it's possibly some of the best dollar per hour entertainment currently available on the current generation of consoles. It's nice and easy to get into if you don't mind a little bit of getting ready and grinding quests.

Is Batman Arkham Knight the best in the series? You know what I really think it has eclipsed the previous two games made by Rocksteady which were both great games in their own right. I feel the changes made along with this being a current gen experience along with an epic finale helped make it the best of the trilogy. The only serious issue I have with this game is the overuse of the Batmobile. If you are a fan of the Batman Arkham series then this is a must buy, and in my opinion the current Game Of The Year for 2015. There is still tough competition with such games as Fallout 4, Battlefront, and Metal Gear Solid V to come, but for now Batman Arkham Knight has safely secured that spot. Go buy it!

With this being the first Rory McIlroy branded PGA Tour game as well as being the first on current gen consoles, I expected this to shake up the series. Sadly that didn't happen as it felt like major backwards steps were taken instead. The lack of features is the biggest gripe I have about the game by far, and it's just not going to satisfy fans of the series at all. Add the technical problems too, and you have a mediocre at best golf game. There won't be another PGA Tour game now until 2017 so  I hope the next 2 years are spent making it much better rather than taking away everything, and leaving fans with a bland and shallow video game.

As I said previously, Risen 3 is the worst game I've played of 2015 so far. There is just so many problems with this game. There's the technical issues that will never be fixed and the boring and terrible combat system both being the biggest offenders of Risen 3's problems. I just can't recommend this game to anyone unless you really want to play a game with a pirate theme, and if that's the case wait until it's really cheap.

6.5 / 10.0 - Mad Max
Aug 31, 2015

Mad Max isn't going to be a game I call a must buy on release date or even something you must play. It's definitely worth giving a try because it can be quite fun to play at times. I liked the customization features for both Max and the cars, and I thought the game managed to be familiar but have a unique take on different things like combat for example. Although my thoughts of the game started strong, they dropped more and more as I advanced through the game. I'd say for now to hold off on your purchase until it drops in price.

Metal Gear Solid V has beaten all the other games so far as my favorite game of the year so far, and with such a competitive year it's quite impressive but also expected due to the high standard of Metal Gear Solid games. There ended up being many reasons why I was left extremely impressed with the game with the gameplay being one of those reasons. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of the Metal Gear Solid franchise, but just a few hours after playing MGS V, I was hooked. If you haven't already bought the game then go out and buy it right now, it's just that good!

Forza Motorsport 6 is all about making things right after Forza Motorsport 5 was disappointment to many fans. The use of popular features in Forza Horizon 2 to make Forza 6 feel fresh was a great idea that also finally gave us the much wanted rain/night tracks that we've asked for many year. Although limited it's still great to have it. I feel like Forza 6 is taking the right steps towards bringing the Motorsport series back to the glory days of the Xbox 360, and with Forza 6 it's almost surpassing those days.

In the end, Broken Sword 5 is worth playing if you enjoy story-driven games that do require more than minimal interaction, or if you enjoy solving puzzles. While there are some issues with the animation and voice acting, don't let that deter you too much as the plot and artwork are more than worth putting up with those issues.

8 / 10.0 - Blood Bowl II
Sep 29, 2015

Blood Bowl 2 is an interesting game, while I don't feel there is enough meat on the bones of this game to warrant a full price purchase, it's certainly worth your time when the price is right. Anyone who likes a tactical game and would like a different take on that genre should definitely give this game a try. As a fan of turn based games and the hilarious take on American Football I found it an enjoyable experience.

I've felt over the last few years that Pro Evo was starting to get somewhere again as a football game, and with 2016 they have nailed it. The gameplay is the best it's been in years, the licenses issue is not really an issue any more with a little bit of extra work that will just take an hour. I just hope the commentary gets some looking in to next year as that was one of the biggest issues I had with the game, and stopped it short of being a perfect football game.
