4.7 / 5.0 - Shovel Knight
Aug 9, 2015

The game also has an incredible soundtrack that is a joint effort between Manami Matsumae from Megaman fame and Jake Kauffman. Both of these have created a soundtrack that is perfect fit for the game. The fast-paced songs fit the mood perfectly and are a joy to listen in the game.

Life is Strange Episode 4: Dark Room ends with another signature cliffhanger. The game's story is coming around though and I'm sure DontNod have an explosive finale planned for us, here's to hoping it comes out sooner rather than later. If the final episode doesn't end up being a disappointing mess, I can see Life is Strange becoming my favourite Adventure game ever.

Compared to previous episodes, Tales from the Borderlands Episode 3: Catch a Ride is a bit slower till the third act but sets up a lot on the game's background story and character development. By the looks of the things Episode 4 will up the ante as the stakes get even higher. If you've been keeping up with the series then the third episode is a must buy.

Hyperdimension Neptunia U: Action Unleashed is a fun deviation from the series’ turn based formula. The game is a really polished experience ranging from the UI, cutscenes, Art and soundtrack. Action Unleashed is one of the better games in the series and should be in your to-buy list if you’re a fan of the series.

Overall Life is Strange is another solid episode and could have been the best yet if the pacing towards the middle of the episode was a tad better. So far Life is Strange hasn't disappointed, if the next two episodes keep the pace then Life is Strange could easily be one of the best Adventure games of all time.

Games of Thrones Episode 2 is a rather slow burn type of Episode which takes it sweet time in establishing the new characters, as well continuing the story of the returning characters. Unfortunately it doesn't really stand as anything special in term of the story, making it a weak follow-up from Episode 1.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is, without a doubt, the best modern Resident Evil yet. It has a perfect bland of action and survival horror gameplay, and one of the best implementation of co-op since Resident Evil 5. The short and focused campaign is a fun experience and the episodes are designed in a way that allows for multiple playthroughs. There are also plenty of secrets hidden throughout each episode, which should increase the replay value.

Game of Thrones Episode 1 provides a successful start to this new series from Telltale Games. The episode ends in such a way that we are left hanging for more at the end.  It definitely isn't their best work yet, but it does show a lot of promise in the future.

4 / 5.0 - Axiom Verge
May 30, 2015

In conclusion, Axiom Verge is a great indie game that has nailed the look and feel of the classic Metroidvania games. Unfortunately in this process, some elements were borrowed that can often result in a frustrating experience. Still, as a work of a single developer, Axiom Verge is a remarkable throwback to the old school side-scrolling action-adventure games.

4.3 / 5.0 - Broken Age
May 24, 2015

All in all, Broken Age is a fun, well-executed adventure game with a gripping storyline and tons of humor, marred only by its cumbersome puzzle design.

Overall Tales from the Borderlands Episode 2: Atlas Mugged is a very good followup to the first episode. If you haven't gotten the season pass yet, certainly consider getting the second episode.

3.5 / 5.0 - Omega Quintet
May 11, 2015

Overall Omega Quintet is a solid game, as you can tell I enjoyed the battle system the most even though it took a while to get used to and to learn all the stats. It has a very slow start and somewhat boring so don't expect to have the game to click with you instantly.

Zer0 sum is like an impressive pilot to greenlight a TV show. Hopefully the rest of the season is just as good.

It's hard not to recommend Scholar of the First Sin to newcomers and veterans alike. For newcomers, this latest version provides hours and hours of fantastic content for a great price. Meanwhile, the remixed encounters and items, the ramped up challenge, and the much-needed improvements to the multiplayer ensure that veterans also have plenty of reasons to pick this up.

Life is Strange Episode 2: Out of Time is fairly entertaining but could have been even better if it could have maintained the urgency and direction of the last thirty minutes. If you have played the first episode then it's worth giving Episode 2 a playthrough.

Overall I'm pretty impressed with the first episode of Life is Strange titled Chrysalis. The story has me hooked and I can't wait to find out what happens next. For the price checking out the first episode is a no brainer.

Dragon Ball: XenoVerse is a very solid fighting game and Dimps reputation hasn't been let down. I just hope that if there is a XenoVerse 2 they put in some extra QA work to fix the niggling gameplay issues and balancing. They also need to fix the massive online issues that are still present, not being able to connect to an online lobby so long after release is unforgivable. However if you're a Dragon Ball fan then getting Dragon Ball: Xenoverse is definitely recommended.

3.5 / 5.0 - Fairy Fencer F
Feb 15, 2015

Fairy Fencer F is a mixed bag of a game, the combat is excellent but the story and setting failed to grab my attention. Overtime the battle system also started getting on my nerves due to the lengthy dungeons. The setting is different from the Neptunia series, so if you definitely want to play one of Compile Heart's game and Neptunia is not swinging your boat, then go ahead give Fairy Fencer F a try.

3.7 / 5.0 - Natural Doctrine
Jan 10, 2015

Hardcore fans of the Strategy RPG genre may find Natural Doctrine to be very enjoyable given that they invest time into it. The game is very lengthy so make sure to set aside some time before plunging into the game's world.
