7.5 / 10.0 - Far Cry: New Dawn
Feb 20, 2019

Purely as a spin-off to Far Cry 5, New Dawn does manage to offer a solid continuation of the story and already established gameplay mechanics. If we take it as a completely new game, it doesn't manage to leave that great of an impression.

5 / 10.0 - JUMP FORCE
Feb 16, 2019

Jump Force was a game I was really looking forward to playing this year. Being a huge fan of the Xenoverse games like you may have guessed already judging by the number of times I mentioned them, Jump Force takes that formula and tries to fit the square peg in a round hole.

7 / 10.0 - God Eater 3
Feb 15, 2019

As modern games approach a more broad design, God Eater 3 has continued with its linear but a more tightly focused gameplay structure. It works fine for what the game aspires here, but compared to its competitors, there is definitely a sense of disappointment and missed potential.

Dragons: Dawn of New Riders mostly keeps it simple and fun with an easy to follow story and gameplay. It is not the most complex action game but makes uses its licensed property creatively. So instead of looking like forced tie-in, it feels more like a proper spin-off to the movie.

While offering nothing refreshing to the series, this is a solid remake that brings back the original Senran Kagura with all the bells and whistles to the current generation. There is a good amount of content available for fans but beneath it, the gameplay can get repetitive and the story suffers from an awkward pace.

9.5 / 10.0 - Kingdom Hearts III
Feb 4, 2019

Kingdom Hearts III is a visual spectacle that presents playable versions of the various Disney worlds in a way that has never been attempted by a video game. It has a convoluted story that might confuse newcomers but once you dig deeper into it, there is a surprising amount of depth underneath it backed by a refreshing combat system.

9.5 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 is one the best remakes released this generation that not only delivers on the lofty expectations set by fans, but it also manages to offer a fresh perspective for an old classic.

This is a technically efficient port for Dynasty Warriors 8 with a solid performance that adds plenty of extra content to the game. It is easily the best Dynasty Warriors available now on the Nintendo Switch.

Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown is a triumphant return to form for the series. It’s a must-have for PSVR owners, but also worth checking out for its main campaign and other extras.

While not offering enough fresh content, New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe is still an excellent co-op platformer. The new playable character, Toadette, is an exciting concept that is best suited for kids. Every level offers secret coins and with eight different worlds and addition of the Luigi expansion, it is a content-rich game with excellent replay value.

Onimusha: Warlords is a fantastic game that will always be fondly remembered as a true classic. This remaster is, unfortunately, rather barebones and a big missed opportunity to bring back the franchise into the limelight.

7 / 10.0 - Vane
Jan 16, 2019

Vane is an experience filled with intrigue and mystery, but it’s held back by some technical issues. One can’t help but feel that it could’ve used some more time in the oven. That said, despite its issues, it’s better than the sum of its parts and worth checking out by fans of Team ICO’s past work.

Tales of Vesperia is often hailed as one of the best entries in the series, and rightfully so. The new content of definitive edition gives it a fresh coat of paint, which is already a great action JRPG. What is slightly disappointing is the lack of proper visual upgrade, but the improved resolution and frame rate does make a big difference.

A collection well suited for the classic Atelier fans. What makes it exciting is how these games still hold up fine even today, and if you haven't managed to play them, or started with the series, this is a good stepping stone for the franchise.

4 / 10.0 - Gungrave VR
Dec 17, 2018

GunGrave VR is tough to recommend to anyone outside of GunGrave purists, and even then there isn’t enough content here to justify its asking price, and what's there is largely a chore to play through.

The Last Remnant Remastered is certainly an improvement over the original release and should be enjoyable if you're looking for a tough JRPG, however, the story and accompanying game system may leave you disappointed.

7 / 10.0 - Just Cause 4
Dec 11, 2018

Just Cause 4 shows that you don't need a story to provide an entertaining gameplay, but the lack of activities in a massive open world is also its biggest fault. Giving the players an open playground with tools of destruction is basically the selling point of this game.
