Ultimately, Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes is compelling because it understands the part of the series that truly needed to be transformed into a game: the struggle of holding together a fleeing community.

The Dark Pictures Anthology builds on some established features—the horror feel, the focus on plot and characters, and the narrative forks—as well as significant new features, most notably a new setting and revamped gameplay. Unfortunately, this desire for innovation hasn't been fully realized, as Directive 8020's stealth mechanics are too basic to sustain the large number of sequences that utilize them, and the sci-fi setting remains anchored to banal stylistic elements that prevent the title from standing out from the crowd. The narrative fails to build the gravitas that should characterize a rescue mission for the entire human race, but it picks up slightly with a body horror ending and an interesting twist. The new Turning Point map is a godsend for completionists, who can finally explore every nook and cranny of the story without having to replay entire chapters needlessly. On the graphics and performance front, Supermassive has done a good job, despite the lackluster art design.

Neverness To Everness is perhaps a bit too ambitious, trying to do a bit of everything without truly excelling in any one aspect. All the game's components are enjoyable, but none of them really stand out, and you end up appreciating the variety rather than the quality. All of this translates into an experience that's certainly fun for the first few hours, but risks faltering when trying to sustain interest over the long term. Now it's up to the developers to succeed with post-launch support that can both add content and improve upon what's already available.

Essentially, Milestone is continuing to build on the successful dual formula that has ushered in a rebirth of sorts for the MotoGP video game franchise, and it's done so with an installment that appeals to both newcomers and veterans alike. The new physics model works and is convincing; the new Career mode represents a clear departure from the franchise's past (though it still has some room for improvement); the Race Off mode is fun and finally includes street bikes. If you're a MotoGP fan or are simply looking for a title to fuel your inner racer, this year's edition of Milestone's sports simulator could be the perfect fit for you.

Overall, Saros manages to build a clear and coherent identity, even when not all of its solutions are entirely convincing.

The numerous choices rarely carry the weight they should, and the watered-down writing style ends up excessively muting them. Tides of Tomorrow hints at something enormous beneath the surface, without ever truly bringing it to the surface.

We recommend it without hesitation only to the most ardent fans of the series—those who have been with the game since launch and who will find in these new mechanics the fuel for hundreds more hours in the bowels of Sanctuary.

REPLACED is a feast for the eyes and ears. The world designed by Sad Cat Studios is vibrant and captivating, a place where getting lost in the details and references is a constant pleasure.

It's truly difficult to find any merits in Samson, given the roughly 20 hours it takes to complete it in its entirety (beyond the 8 hours of main missions, that is).

However, it remains a collection that bears all the limitations of the original trilogy, with a certain underlying repetitiveness and a structure that today struggles to surprise those looking for something deeper or more layered. However, for those willing to accept its simpler, more childish nature, Star Force remains a sincere adventure.

here are still some issues with the layout of the circuits and some mechanics that appear less refined than the others, but overall, we can consider it another great game for the Milanese studio.

If we had to define Planet of Lana 2 in one word, it would definitely be "maturity." The same maturity the development team has poured into this work, both in terms of story and gameplay, improving it in every aspect. Ultimately, the series is a little gem because, like its protagonist, it looks to the past with admiration while resolutely aiming for new directions in an adventure that still has much to tell.

When everything runs smoothly, Saber Interactive's title effectively conveys the feeling of being in the middle of one of those apocalyptic films where the only priority is surviving yet another wave of the undead. However, the game's offerings, as they stand, are far too limited and quickly become repetitive. The project's underlying structure is solid and shows promise, but new content will be needed to transform Toxic Commando into something more than a fun cooperative shooter for a couple of evenings.

Once the dust has been cleared, one could say that Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake is the same game released almost twenty-five years ago, simply given a thorough facelift.

If Capcom can keep up this courage, Stories has all the credentials to not only stand alongside the main Monster Hunter series, but to establish itself as one of the most relevant entries in the entire JRPG landscape.
