GameGrin's Reviews
Fishing Break is a super cute-looking game that still feels like a mobile title as you are using primarily the touch screen on the Switch.
Cat Quest III is an excellent 2.5D open-world RPG with fun characters and even a pirate ship to pilot. My only issue is that the puns can get to be a bit much by the time you reach the end!
Riven is a stunning reimagining of the original title. The visuals are beautiful and the puzzles are as challenging as ever, requiring a lot of thought, focus, and attempts. Definitely not for everyone, but an experience I don't regret!
Innovative, memorable, and well-written, Vampire Therapist is easy to recommend to visual novel fans and anyone interested in cognitive behavioural therapy.
Though hampered by some feature bloat and minor technical issues, Creatures of Ava is a beautiful game about empathy and understanding. The animals are adorable, the characters are fun, and the sound design is top-notch! Yes, you can pet almost everything.
KAKU: Ancient Seal offers a great experience in a fantastic world, but certain design choices leave something to be desired.
Midnight Ramen is a cosy time with flavourful depths hidden within. With an emotional story and wonderful world-building, it's hard not to come back for seconds.
Gestalt: Steam & Cinder is a gorgeous-looking metroidvania title with smooth controls and a deep story. It's a bit short to play through, but it is an enjoyable experience.
SteamWorld Heist II is made with plenty of heart and effort to create an amazing adventure that never feels bad. Don't be afraid to stop by and make your own legend. It's worth it.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Splintered Fate is the crossover game that you never knew you wanted. Ninja Turtles mixed with Hades is a great combination that is fun solo or with friends!
Despite being very hard, and a little bit repetitive in places, this is a fine addition to a game that was already one of my favourite puzzlers of all time.
Abathor recreates the experience of playing side-scrolling beat ‘em ups in the arcade, with solo and local and online co-op modes available to challenge. With no save points, this is a very challenging experience!
Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip is a hilarious journey with platforming, driving, puzzles, and laughs aplenty. While it may not last long, it is definitely a turbo trip you won't regret taking!
Until Then is a story-rich adventure full of standouts: its beautiful pixel art, relatable protagonist, realistic character dynamics, and thoughtful representation of Filipino culture. It's a coming-of-age tale worth experiencing.
Magical Delicacy is a cooking metroidvania which you can easily lose yourself in. Like any good fantasy, it encourages exploration and it doesn't punish you for your mistakes. With an intriguing story, you can really put yourself in Flora's shoes as you learn about the Kingdom of Grat with her.
SCHiM uses shadows in delightfully creative ways, turning ordinary objects into astoundingly helpful tools. This wholesome, vibrant 3D platformer offers an adventure that shouldn't be missed.
Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus is one of the most beautiful games I have played. With great characters and a compelling story, it is sure to draw you in and challenge you.
While largely enjoyable, there are too many technical issues to be ignored on its quest to become the quintessential 90s 3D platformer.
Don't miss out on Beyond Good & Evil. It's a great game that deserves to be played, and while I do have issues, some of which are not inherent to the game (like requiring Ubisoft Connect), it is well worth the price.
A simple action-adventure game with a stunning visual design, #BLUD is an enjoyable title packed full of jokes, charming characters, and vampires to slay!
