GameGrin's Reviews
The Lullaby of Life is a relaxing puzzler with lovely visuals, excellent pacing, and a calming soundscape. This beautiful, bite-sized adventure is definitely worth exploring.
With My Past is an interesting puzzle platformer that tackles heavy themes. It is a beautiful game that poses a unique challenge to players, but one that you should play with care.
Echo Generation: Midnight Edition has a great voxel look, great references, and a fun story, but be prepared to do a lot of fetch quests and grinding to progress!
Killer Klowns from Outer Space: The Game might not be perfect, but fans of the genre or series (or looking to confront their fear of clowns) should check it out.
A dark, more mature story, a great new cast of characters, and much improved turn-based action make Trails through Daybreak a fine addition to the franchise that's accessible to fans and newcomers alike.
Rolling Hills: Make Sushi, Make Friends is as satisfying as great sushi. You'll have fun running a restaurant and making friends at a nice pace with very little to stop you.
It's nice that the developer is still supporting the game almost 18 months on, improving the post-launch state of the game, and the lesbian polyamory is just nice to see without delving too deep into fanservice.
Despite the possibility of predatory microtransactions, MultiVersus is currently on my daily login list: the fighting is fun, the characters are varied, and it gives me something to do every day.
Flame Keeper is a nice time, if short, but it feels like there could be more that could be done, held back by its own mechanics and lack of variety.
King Arthur: Legion IX is competent and works as it should, but it lacks any draw for new players and is likely better for fans of the series.
Scholar's Mate is an interesting entry in the horror genre, blending an eerie atmosphere with escape room gameplay, but its tricky puzzles might not be for everyone.
The Land Beneath Us is a fantastic roguelike, managing to innovate on an already saturated genre to make something truly special.
Journey of Wrestling nails the management sim without getting too bogged down in cumbersome menus and convoluted busywork. Fantasy bookers rejoice, your time has come!
Citadel Stormer 2 is an addictive 2D platformer set in a world where AI threatens to take over. With a password system, keep a pen ready!
Go get Spiritfall. I'm flat-out telling you to because it's just that good. Even if you aren't familiar with its inspirations, you should go get it. It's easy to get into and mastery will come naturally. Don't sleep on this.
Despite a relatively enjoyable gameplay loop, Dig or Die doesn't have enough content to keep it engaging for long. Dull visuals and occasionally frustrating controls add to a game that shows promise but is ultimately a disappointment.
Aside from minor niggles that didn't affect my personal experience, Once a Porn a Time is a hilarious journey that doesn't take itself seriously, and if you give in to the whackiness, you'll love it all the more for it.
Pool Cleaning Simulator tries to be interesting, and it does work at times, but at the end of the day, it's more like doing chores than playing a game.
Lost in Tropics is barely a survival game and I can't even tell it was a roguelite. There are better games that will last you longer than three real weeks than the three in-game weeks this game asks of you.
While QUALIA ~Path of Promise~ has a strong premise, I feel like it didn't hit the mark in terms of what it could do as a story. While some fans may enjoy it, if you're looking for an immersive visual novel, this probably won't be for you.
