The upgrade to the game's look to present them in a 16:9 aspect ratio, as well as the gameplay improvements for the first two games applied from the third game in the series make this the definitive version of the trilogy.
Immortal Redneck is a fun fast paced first person shooter, and getting to the top of the pyramid is a huge grind as you will need to spend plenty of money on upgrades to have a shot at reaching the top.
I really liked my time back in the Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late universe, and do feel that Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] improves on the overall formula, adding a massive story thanks to Chronicles mode as well as two new fighters to the already considerably lineup.
Violett is a fun point and click game that doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it is a release that will keep you entertained from start to finish.
Aces of the Luftwaffe – Squadron is a fun shoot 'em up with great graphics, a nice soundtrack and solid voice acting that comes together in a solid indie release.
Lost Grimoires 2: Shard of Mystery is another fun point and click adventure/hidden object puzzle game on Sony's home console and one I can easily recommend, even more so if you're a fan of Artifex Mundi. I look forward to playing the next game they send our way!
Is Energy Balance a game worth your time and money? If you are great with numbers and want a short game with a Platinum trophy, then you'll definitely get the most out of this one. But if math is not your thing and you don't like taking on puzzles with random solutions every time you play then you should skip this one.
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a game that is very easy to recommend since it's a very fun game and one of the most unique multiplayer games I have played in a while.
The Count Lucanor is a solid indie release on Nintendo Switch with a story that takes a turn into creepy territory, presented with an interesting minimalist pixel art style that makes the game stand out. It's a release that does not overstay its welcome, clocking in at around 3 to 5 hours depending on your skill level and how many rooms you end up completing between those with real letters and those with the fake ones, which is the perfect size for this quirky adventure.
Crawl is definitely worth a download, and I hope you enjoy it as much as I have!
There's a good and rich story to experience, fun side-quests, solid combat mechanics and even some mini-games to enjoy here and there. Go on and donwload Crossing Souls today!
Final Thoughts Although I can't compare it with the first game (yet), it feels to me that Over the Moon Games have built a better game on top of an already good game with The Fall Part 2: Unbound. It's take on AI is really captivating, almost as much as its story, and there are enough gameplay and story twists to keep you interested all the way to the end of A.R.I.D.'s quest.
Timothy Vs the Aliens is a solid release from the Spanish indie team at Wild Sphere, and an ambitious one. The game is an open world release that, unfortunately, doesn't feel as populated as it could have been, but it probably comes down to the development budget and time the indie studio had for making the game. As long as you give this one a chance you'll get to experience a short but fun story with great gameplay mechanics and a Platinum trophy, which is rare with indie releases. This is a good effort from Wild Sphere and I look forward to seeing what the team does to expand on the formula.
If you're looking for a top-down action release that offers bite-sized levels for you to dive into for a few minutes at a time with a difficulty that slowly ramps up as you go, then you should give Crimsonland a try. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it does offer a solid and entertaining arcade-style release on Nintendo Switch that is worth a shot.
Overall, Danger Zone is a fun arcade-style release that will keep you coming back for more as you try to find the best strategy for causing as much damage as possible for each run in each of the game's simulations.
Hiragana Pixel Party is an interesting game/educational tool on Nintendo Switch that, for a few bucks, will teach you some basic Japanese by way of a rhythm game presentation. The cartoony graphics and art are great to look at and the voice acting will help you learn the proper pronunciation for the things you'll get to learn. What's not to like?
Splasher is a very colorful and fun 2D action platformer with plenty of content to enjoy. Once you get into the groove of things and you start to 100% level after level, you'll see why it's a very addictive experience. Before you know it you would have completed all stages in the game and rescued all Splasher from Le Decteur, ready to do it all over again as you aim at landing a spot at the top of the time trial leaderboards.
The Longest Five Minutes is a very fun release from NIS America that is perfect for the Nintendo Switch since you can play the game in short burst at home or on the go and put the console in sleep mode to quickly carry on as soon as you have some free time, or you can play for longer sessions if you feel like it. The game's art style and music are great, and the gameplay mechanics and interesting story will keep you busy until the end. I'm very happy about what NIS America has done with this release, and I look forward to seeing what else they bring to the Nintendo Switch this year.
If you are wanting a tough and challenging stilized release on Nintendo Switch, then you should give 60 Seconds! Other than the controls which feel a bit awkward, the game offers an interesting take on the survival genre.
Overall, it's hard to recommend Sparkle 2 EVO on Nintendo Switch. The underlying premise is good, and when executed right it can make for a very fun release, but this one feels lacking in some areas. Perhaps the game can be patched to increase its content or add a new mode or two, but in its current state, it's not a very fun release.
