Torment: Tides of Numenera is a huge game with a lot to discover and do. I have enjoyed the game very much after dozens of hours playing it, and it’s certainly shaping up to be one of the best RPG for 2017. The game oozes depth and has a lot of replayability. The best part is there is a Platinum trophy too, but given the game’s nature several of them are missable. There’s some that are story-related, but for trophy hunters, I do believe a trophy guide will be a must – not to mention a huge time investment in the game! After finishing my Torment: Tides of Numenera review, I’m sure I’ll continue to play the game as I unravel its story and lore, and I highly recommend that you purchase this game on PS4. It’s an early contender for GOTY 2017 that you have to try!
Oh, and if, for some reason, you are scared of spiders, don’t worry. You can play as a walrus.
I’ve enjoyed previous release from eastasiasoft, and I certainly had fun with this colorful release! During my time playing the game for this Lost Sea review I kept coming back to it to do a new run and then another one, learning along the way who the best crew members were, how to defeat large enemies without risking defeat, what skills are more useful early on and which ones I needed to save for right away, and more. If you’re looking for a fun hack and slash game, then you should definitely check this one out!
I had a lot of fun with Vertical Drop Heroes HD. The action and pacing are great, and the challenge is never overwhelming. When I died, I knew it was due to my own fault. The one complaint I'd have is that the game looks a bit dark on the PS Vita. And yes, I have the portable's brightness set to max. Other than that, the game is a lot of fun, and with Cross-Buy functionality and its decent price, the game is definitely worth your time and money.
I had an absolute blast figuring out how to build each bridge properly so that it didn't fall as soon as I let gravity do its worst. The physics in this game are perfectly implemented, and while it starts easy enough, the difficulty will quickly ramp up without ever feeling unfair.
I enjoyed this game more than I did the last set of proper Dynasty Warriors games. There was a better connection with the characters, even though I was unfamiliar with the anime. It found a way to tell a much better story from the source material and make it a great experience overall as it focuses on a smaller group of characters. There are still a few hiccups in frame rate and draw distance, but this game is doing a lot with what the PS Vita has to offer.
I enjoyed the relaxing pacing and feel of the game. While writing my Semispheres review, I continued to play the game even after I had drafted this review. When a game does that to you, you know it’s doing something right. The fact that there are no timers rushing you to beat a level as fast as possible, not to mention that there’s no “game over” of any sort as you play make this a very great pick up and play release that quickly puts you “in the zone.” I highly recommend Semispheres to puzzle game fans as it will provide you with many hours of fun before you manage to finish the final puzzle.
EARTHLOCK: Festival of Magic is a great RPG, and you should try it right now! Its battle system was fun to play (albeit with some battles that were a bit too long for my taste), and the locations were fun to explore. Also, this is the first game of an announced trilogy, which means we should look forward to a sequel soon!
I had a great time with the game for my Toy Odyssey: Lost and Found review. It ran great on my PS4, was fun to play and very rewarding. The one complaint I’d have is that the in-game text is very small. Other than that, I recommend that you give this one a go!
Flywrench is a very fun and highly addictive PS4 release. It grabbed my attention right from the start and did not let me go until I had opened my way though each of the areas. It’s minimalist presentation, and tight gameplay mechanics make it very easy to be able to focus completely on the action on screen as you blast your way through narrow corridors, spinning blades and innocent-looking squares.
Either digitally or physically, this is a must-have game for Nintendo 3DS owners that are into horror games. The game is very fun, the story is twisted and macabre, and will keep you busy for a while. The one complaint I could have is that the game is not presented in 3D during gameplay and only uses 3D for still images, but that would be the one thing. Playing in the dark with headphones is the best way to immerse yourself in the Corpse Party universe, so be sure to play it right!
I really wanted to like Godseekers as I appreciated the chance they took on giving us something very differnt for a Dynasty Warriors title. While I found the game mechanics fun, I think most players will find the options presented lack depth. The game looks solid on Vita, but it should have looked better as the hardware is not running as hard as it would for a proper Dynasty Warriors game. If you are looking for something different and are a fan of the Dynasty Warriors franchise then you should certainly give this game a shot.
Uncanny Valley is an interesting game that fans of games such as Lone Survivor and Claire: Extended Cut will certainly like. There’s a lot of content to experience in this PS Vita and PS4 psychological survival horror game, and every run will put you on the path towards a different ending as long as you remember what you’ve done before and what you’re going to do next.
Supermagical is a very fun puzzle game with a good variety of levels and plenty of content to enjoy. You’ll spend many hours just completing each of the available stages, and getting a three-star rating on each one will at least double your time with this portable release. If you want a good portable puzzle game, then I highly recommend that you get Supermagical. I look forward to playing the next release from Tama Games because so far they’ve given us two fun portable releases.
I had a lot of fun with HoPiKo. It’s a great arcade-style experience that can be played in short bursts between other larger and more complex games, and it’s very entertaining. There’s plenty of content in this indie release and a sizeable challenge for those of you who like to 100% your games. I’ll keep coming back to HoPiKo as I try to unlock the trophies I’m missing, and I’m sure I’ll have a blast doing so.
Is No Time To Explain fun? Yes. Is it a very challenging game? Yes. Are you going to die a lot as you try to get to the exit? Yes. Is No Time To Explain worthy of your time? Certainly. I recommend that you give this one a go on PlayStation 4 so that you can see what you're really made of. Also, if you like hats, even just a bit, then this is a must-have title for your collection.
I enjoyed playing Exile’s End on PlayStation 4 as it certainly reminded me of old-school games from “back in the day” and scratched that particular “more Metroidvania, please” itch. I highly recommend you get this one on PS4, especially if you’re looking for a game that will not try to over-explain things or to make your journey an easy one. If you want a challenge, this is the one for you.
We both really liked The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition. It is a great take on the survival genre with a very charming and unique art style. With the procedurally generated river, every trip you take be different, thus offering a ton of replay value. The crafting system works really well and isn't as obtuse as in other entries in the genre. We definitely recommend that you play The Flame in the Flood: Complete Edition on PS4!
Bridge Constructor is a very fun puzzle game that will challenge players to find the best way to build bridges within their budget to maximize their resistance at the lowest possible cost. There’s a lot of replay value in here as you aim to do it all over again with the trucks – if you didn’t do it the first time – not to mention the heavier and larger trucks unlocked later in the game. The added content with the SlopeMania levels is also great for extending the life of this one, as is the case for the global leaderboards where players can try to improve their scores to rise in the ranking.
You know a game is fun when you're done writing a review for it, and you still end up going back to play some more. The Bug Butcher is an excellent arcade-style action game that is a must-have for PlayStation 4 owners. The bite-sized nature of each level makes the whole package highly addictive. You'll keep playing to get all three stars and to meet the combo requirement in a level… only to then aim at beating your high score, or beating the high score of your friends.
