6 / 10 - Stonefly
Jun 10, 2021

In the end, Stonefly shouldn't be taken for anything else than a pleasant yet ambitionless game. Its major flaws revolve around its gameplay, quite frustrating sometimes, but the overall game setting reveals to be picturesque and unique, not to mention the soothing soundtrack. Ideal for small game sessions.

Ninja Gaiden Collection provides three very good games, but too bad we only have lazy ports here. It's almost the same games as the PS360 versions, and kind of expensive, too...

Behind the humorous, colorful atmosphere, Game Builder Garage proves a real creation environment, with a phenomenally intuitive interface and a clever didactic approach to such a huge amount of possibilities, using almost every function of the system. But Nintendo also made delicate compromises between simplicity and ambition through technical or sharing limitations, hence production will heavily rely on Nodon game designers' efforts.

8 / 10 - Knockout City
Jun 8, 2021

We probably have our game for the summer with Knockout City . Refreshing, invigorating, accessible and endowed with a huge potential, the title developed by Velan Studios has something to convince you, in particular thanks to a certain replayability, especially with friends. If its look will divide, the content is there : it remains to be fleshed out so as not to exceed the status of simple summer hit.

Thanks to its gorgeous visuals and deeper narrative, Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart arises the series to a new level. With many locations to enjoy, a lot of weapons to try out and many, many collectibles to find, everyone should find a good reason to embark on this bidimensional journey, even though the obvious collision bugs are still way too present.

Super Bomber R Online could have been a wonderful entry in the series. Its 64 players mode is truly a blast... when it all comes together, which never really happens as it suffers very lenghty loading times, frequent bugs and is made to have you buy its Premium Pack in order to not use very powerful special characters.

7 / 10 - Sludge Life
Jun 2, 2021

Sludge Life is a strange but kind of hypnotic experience, between graffitis and social strikes, using its free exploration to deliver an in-between subtext. If the low-poly visual approach do not repulse you, this like-no-other ride sure offers a few hours of raw discoveries and disturbing encounters.

7 / 10 - BIOMUTANT
Jun 2, 2021

Biomutant is a nice ARPG, with a nice universe, despites a not very good combat aspect.

Sadly, Wonder Boy Asha in Monster World is just a 3D version of a game that hasn't aged well. It would have been great if Asha and Pepelogoo had more of remake than a colourful remaster that only shows that the original game was not as good as The Dragon's Trap or Wonder Boy in Monster World.

Mass Effect Legendary Edition is the the best way to play the Mass Effect trilogy in 2021, but with an expensive launch price, some work on the graphics but none on the animations.

8 / 10 - Miitopia
May 25, 2021

Beyond the improved visuals and supplementary customization options, the additional member of the team played by the horse proves the main evolution of Grezzo's port, which makes the adventure even more pleasant for young audience, while RPG veterans may surely appreciate such irony, too reminiscent of the 3DS version though.

7 / 10 - Days Gone
May 18, 2021

Days Gone on PC offers a visually pleasing experience and solid in its entirety, thus erasing the few technical mistakes of the PS4 version. It is pleasant to follow the tribulations of Deacon St John for several hours, despite some black spots like the AI, the repetitiveness of the missions and the bestiary which is sorely lacking in variety. However, this does not prevent Bend Studio from offering a technically successful title.

Playing the boss, in other words the villain, proves a comical, enjoyably cruel, mind crushing experience. The management tasks may become deadly repetitive, since Goblinz Studio's business plan is deliberately lacking some deeper perspective, but Legend of Keepers should deserve the title of the lightest dungeon game, as simple - and good - as that.

Despite the prospect of discovering the green lands of Ireland, it's hard to get excited after a dozen hours spent on The Wrath of the Druids: this first expansion of Assassin's Creed Valhalla is content despite a handful of novelties to recycle the formula of the main adventure, which may quickly tire those who have already completed it. While waiting for the Siege of Paris, which we hope will be much more inspired, we will advise the conquerors to go quietly to their business, waiting for better, less misty days.

Resident Evil Village is both a beautiful and worthy successor to Resident Evil 7 biohazard. And it is more than just a sequel that rehashes ideas seen in the previous game. Capcom's game tries things that have never been seen before in the series and keeps things moving at the right pace with a few good twists along the way. It also must be said that Capcom's developers masterfully used both light and sound to put the player in Ethan's shoes. The only problem with the game is that it may be a bit too action-oriented near the end. That being said, Resident Evil Village is undoubtedly a great Resident Evil game.

Beyond a simple, yet expressive artistic presentation and a nostalgic tone, this narrative, subjective, hence immersive experience addresses dementia issues with such authenticity that Before I Forget not only proves unforgettable, but ultimately useful.

Many flaws of toR Studio's work can be seen as an ironic tribute to the Soviet Union's old-time style, so the deliberately assumed repetitiveness of the concept - brutal and efficient - may oddly help Boris the Rocket to reach the right target.

9 / 10 - Returnal
Apr 29, 2021

Returnal is the first big original PS5 exclusive, a fantastic game and a quite intense adventure. It looks great, plays wonderfully, tells a captivating story and is definitely an amazing AAA Rogue-like that PS5 owners will be delighted to play again and again.

Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is one of, if not the, most touching games in the long running series. It offers a fitting end to Kazuma Kiryu's story and gives the series a change of pace (Onomichi and its people are great). It's just too bad that SEGA didn't go the remaster route (on Xbox Series X|S) as the game feels a bit weird running at 30 fps in 2021.
