Persona 5 Royal is like a favorite dish prepared according to a new recipe. All the ingredients are recognizable and great, but a different level of roasting and unexpected spices allow you to discover it in a new way. The additional characters and chapter fit perfectly into the overall plot, which touches on interesting and adult themes. Even those who have finished the original will be able to find a lot of new things. Persona 5 deservedly holds the title of the best Japanese RPG of this generation, but it gets even better with Royal.

Bleeding Edge is currently a very raw game, a failed experiment and a free fantasy of a small group of people who for some reason were given the green light. A small number of main types of gaming activities, poor content and technical problems outweigh the bright characters with unique abilities, nice graphics and a pleasant soundtrack. However, the positive thing is that Bleeding Edge is unlikely to affect the really big next game from Ninja Theory, which we will all continue to wait for.

Path of Giants is a great game. And dozen levels are completed in an hour, which is not so much by the standards of the genre. The authors could have added new features and levels to the PC release as a nice bonus, but they decided to focus on direct adaptation and support for the controller. Anyway it is a nice one-night game.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX is a nice looking game with atmospheric hand-drawn graphics, but absolutely empty in content. Easing the gameplay killed almost all the interest in exploring the dungeons, which is absurd for a dungeon-crawler. Excellent visuals and nice plot saves the project from complete oblivion, but in general, Rescue Team DX is still not worth your attention.

If you were worried about the quality, you can calmly exhale - Valve has not forgotten how to make great games. Half-Life: Alyx is not just the best and most beautiful project for virtual reality to date, but also an excellent and very worthy addition to the Half-Life series. It is simply a "must have" in the collection of a fan of the genre and franchise. If you were looking for a reason to buy an expensive VR helmet for PC, then you have finally found it. And everyone else should at least play it at a friend's house. And, Valve, you are now obligated to release Half-Life 3!

Stela is a nice looking, but completely soulless game that tries to grab a piece of fame from popular developments, but is not able to offer anything new. Doom Eternal is all about luxury fights, incredible graphics, gorgeous landscapes, interesting levels, a powerful soundtrack and a complex lore that will really surprise the fans. id Software reminded us of what a proper single-player shooter is. The project only lacks an interconnected world and a variety of real bosses. May be we can get this in the next game?

Nioh 2 is still a great game for fans of Ninja Gaiden and Dark Souls, which suffers from a weak story, pixelated graphics and outdated solutions, but pleases with addictive mechanics, atmospheric exploration and deep character customization. This is a typical Koei-Tecmo-style sequel, where the developers decided to make careful implementation of small changes, and many things that required a major upgrade were left untouched. Taking into account the lack of a cooperative and a deep RPG components in Sekiro, as well as no news on Elden Ring, Nioh 2 becomes the project that closes an empty niche. This game can be safely recommended to both fans of the first game, and all fans of such Action-RPG genre.

Metro Redux for Nintendo Switch is not ideal, but a good port of a very non-trivial shooter with a lot of interesting ideas and a careful approach to small details. Thanks to Switch, you can plunge into the sticky atmosphere of the catacombs of the Moscow metro in any place and at any time.

Granblue Fantasy Versus is an incredibly beautiful fighting game with nice characters, atmospheric arenas and bright effects, which is great for the beginners, but does not forget about the depth of the combat system. The number of characters at the moment is quite poor, but they are well-developed and differ from each other in terms of gameplay. Given the long life of the progenitor and the already announced DLC, you can expect good support and a lot of content in future.

Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition for Nintendo Switch is the best version of the cult game, which has become more fun due to new features and interesting co-op. Instant access to all weapons and quick switching of styles pleasantly updated the outdated combat system, allowing you to create more spectacular combos, and the cooperative play of the "Blood Palace" allowed this mode to shine with new colors. It is a pity that the developers did not add online and correct some old roughness, such as the missing effect of translucent hair of the characters and some pre-recorded scenes in low resolution. Otherwise, this is a great adaptation that will definitely please fans of the genre.

Atelier Ruza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout is a rather meditative story about friendship and mutual assistance, which abandoned timers, cruel search for rare components and a too complex system of alchemy. All errors can be corrected, death in battle returns you home with a slightly reduced number of components collected, and songs and dances on the background of the fire will fill you with the warmest feelings. Atelier Ryza is a great choice for beginners, but also potions veterans will not be disappointed for sure.
