If you grew up way back in the olden days like me and can't stomach another anime RPG then YIIK is worth a look. YIIK: A Postmodern RPG is out now on Nintendo Switch.

8 / 10.0 - JUMP FORCE
Feb 21, 2019

Overall Jump Force does several things well, but where it falls short it is noticeable. If you're a big fan of the various Jump Shonen franchises than this is a fun ride for you, if you're looking for an online fighting game, look elsewhere. Having your custom character fight side on the same team as Luffy from One Piece or Midoriya from My Hero Academy is great. The characters from their shows are done very well and look great. Customizing of your character is well done and gives you some good variety. The story is ok and could've been better. The biggest let down comes in the online play and horrid connections. The game clocks in at $59.99 USD on Steam.

It’s a cute indie quest that takes you on a beautiful journey. It won’t change your world but I can’t help but recommend that you share Rime and Ember’s.

Monster Energy Supercross 2 is quite possibly the best Supercross game that's out right now. The stellar, true to feel motorcycle racing, and hard charging soundtrack keeps the adrenaline high. Some problems existed with sound anomalies and seemingly inconsistent landing dynamics, but the solid game play and career mode will keep players coming back. Multiplayer modes are very simplistic, but custom games and creating your own track will add additional replay ability for major Supercross fans.

OlliOlli: Switch Stance is a 2D skateboarding simulator that refuses to lie to its players. You will struggle and you will experience pain. It is going to be difficult, but if you can pull it off, it can be incredibly satisfying… even if the execution of such tricks involved a healthy heaping of dumb luck and/or divine intervention.

As I said, there's plenty of game here, and it's all been a joy. Far Cry 5 was one of the best games in the series, and yet New Dawn may have just eclipsed it with some fine-tuning and a brave new world to explore. I can hardly wait to see what's next from the series, and I hope it follows in the footsteps of The Father.

8.5 / 10.0 - Metro Exodus
Feb 13, 2019

Metro Exodus is a solid third entry to the series but doesn't escape without a few hiccups. Still, it's an immersive, expansive game well worth playing.

7.5 / 10.0 - God Eater 3
Feb 13, 2019

God Eater 3 won't stoke the hearts of Monster Hunter World addicts too much, but it could prove to be a nice break for fans of that game. For God Eater faithful, 3 will undoubtedly become their favorite due to an overall better presentation and sharper combat and multiplayer.

8 / 10.0 - Yakuza Kiwami
Feb 12, 2019

Yakuza Kiwami is the first of several planned remakes of the original series, and chances are all of them will wind up on the PC at some point. It's been a long wait for many to see such a revered classic on the PC, but it's one that's worth every bit of that patience.

Overall, the game comes in as a previous release that was ported to the Nintendo Switch, and it is a very well made stealth game.

8.5 / 10.0 - Sunless Skies
Feb 8, 2019

Overall Sunless Skies is another well-written story from Failbetter Games. The story and setting carry the game, but the combat mechanics can take some getting used to and may feel limiting. If you like your stories thick in the dark and strange ways of things like H.P. Lovecraft than this could very well be your cup of maddening tea. And you do like tea, don't you? Of course you do, the Queen wouldn't allow it to be otherwise and She is watching, always watching...

9 / 10.0 - Arcade Spirits
Feb 5, 2019

Overall Arcade Spirits is well worth the price of admission for those seeking something a bit different but made with love to give the player a story to remember. It has a great soundtrack that matches the style of the neon glitz of the arcade and might just give you the feels.

Tales of Vesperia may very well be the best JRPG on the Nintendo Switch, even if it's over a decade old. I'd love to see more games get the port treatment to the Switch, but even more than that I'm hoping that the series leads decide to bring the next game to the Nintendo console at launch. Recommended for any fans of the series or the JRPG genre.

There's nothing quite like Kingdom Hearts. It's like the most elaborate fan fiction of the Disney universe – a digital walkthrough of the movies with a loosely connective narrative tissue that just doesn't matter much when all is said and done. If you embrace that it's all nonsense to serve you up a delightful nostalgic romp through some of the greatest and most beloved family films, you're not going to be disappointed.

Unruly Heroes is a truly engaging platforming Action title. It hits all the highs of the genre and manages to avoid many of the pitfalls typical of the genre. If you're looking for a new platformer to pick up Unruly Heroes is one worth considering.

4 / 10.0 - Clock Simulator
Jan 30, 2019

Clock simulator really is a cluster of mini-games that set players against the clock. This is an interesting idea that doesn't quite go far enough meaning that the bell tolls far too quickly for this unusual indie game.

9 / 10.0 - Wargroove
Jan 30, 2019

Wargroove is the best turn-based strategy RPG that's come out in ages. With a near limitless content pool, a solid single-player campaign, and addictive multiplayer options, it should be around and entertaining its fans for years. Here's hoping it's the start of a new franchise, because I already want more.
