Overall, the quality of Resident Evil 2 Remake is of the highest caliber. The frights and jump scares you will experience will make you want to run and hide. The villains of the game are more frightening than ever and you will feel it when you see things for the first time. Coming in at $59.99 for the retail version and $69.99 USD for the Deluxe version. It is available on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 right now so go grab it.
Overall The Hong Kong Massacre is a fun game that definitely delivers in the feel of those Hong Kong action movies. But input lag with controls and repetitive levels take away from it. More weapons or weapon choices that actually seemed to matter would've helped the game as well. If you like this type of game, in this setting and don't mind a few issues it's worth the buy at its budget price.
Melbits World is a charming puzzle-solver for party-time. With the power of PlayLink, you will overcome obstacles with up to three friends by using cell phones and tablets to control bridges, boxes, barriers, and beyond.
My Memory Of Us is a fantastic blend of storytelling interwoven with enjoyable puzzles, intelligent stealth mechanics and refreshing cooperative player-controlled play. This one is recommended for all adventure gamers and the elegant story-telling voiced by Patrick Stewart just sweetens the deal!
Overall, Ace Combat 7 has hit the skies and it has been a smooth flight with little turbulence.
When Ski Lifts Go Wrong is a brightly colored exercise in balancing creativity and gleeful devastation. You get to choose how your patrons get from one end of a course to another by choosing the most elaborate or elaborately janky means to achieve your goal. For the adventurous parents who want to build with their kids, When Ski Lifts Go Wrong does have a gore filter to keep the bloody mayhem at a minimum.
Overall, this game lacks any specific direction beyond what you have to figure out for yourself. You get no introduction to the character or the situation they face. There are game breaking bugs and things that cause frustrations that make someone not want to play the game anymore. That being said, this game has good environments and music. The game is now available on PlayStation 4 and is priced at $24.99 USD. If you like clunky, buggy games that look good but make you fight for any meaningful fun then this game is for you. I would not pay the price for this game though and would wait for a sale or even just watch YouTube videos if you are interested in it.
Overall ATOM RPG stands tall on its own feet making for a great first entry by this dev team into the world of post-apocalyptic isometric RPG survival games (try saying that 10 times fast).
Wandersong is a charming, heart-filled musical-adventure. For fans of the puzzle-adventure genre, there is a lot to be had here but where Wandersong really shines, lies in its spirited, charismatic characters and unique story line. Wandersong isn't afraid to make fun of the usual heroic tropes found in many games on the market, but still finds a way to make the player stay connected to what is going on. Come for the adventure, but stay for a song.
At its heart, Nairi: Tower of Shirin is a magical adventure. It contains quite serviceable puzzles and a solid set of character dialogue that should hold your attention for most of the narrative.
If you are looking for a game that will constantly have you asking yourself what you just experienced, Pikuniku may just be what you are looking for. The main story can take you anywhere from 3 - 5 hours along with nine co-operative levels, trophies to discover, and achievements to unlock. Pikuniku is a truly delightful fever-dream on two spindly legs.
In short, buy it if you're a fan of any of those things, maybe wait for a sale if you're not quite sure. But here's hoping we get a real No More Heroes next, because this just made me realize I really want that to happen.
Octahedron is definitely worth your time. It is simple yet challenging and I imagine that, just like Just Shapes & Beats, this will be in my long term rotation as I slowly edge towards that final neon cube in the sky.
Overall, Double Cross is a great meshing of different types of gameplay styles that I love. The action and the Adventure are very good for this type of platform game. It will definitely be fun for anyone who liked Mega Man or other types of adventure platformers.
Last Year: The Nightmare is a five vs one team-based jaunt through a decimated high school playing tag with a serial killer that entertainingly evokes the feel of popular horror B-movies.
A solid game, but not for everyone, Everything is all about exploration, curiosity, and looking to what's around the next corner. If you're not worried about scores, the big boss fight, and want a game that you can chill out with while you listen to great music, then Everything is for you.
Coffee Crisis is a fun throwback to the retro era. It takes a few new ideas, an interesting theme and simply has fun with things. If you are looking for a modern fighter with a variety of ideas you might want to look elsewhere. If you love metal and having fun just bashing face, then coffee crisis brews up a storm.
If you're looking for a slightly different 2D platformer that provides a challenge then Rain World is a great fit
Omensight is a great title that suffers a bit from repetition in gameplay but makes up for it with some great combat, fun progression mechanics, excellent voice work and well-delivered story. If you're looking for a fun ARPG experience I would recommend checking out Omensight. With the game just recently finding its way to the Nintendo Switch as well as previously being available on Steam and PlayStation 4, Omensight is a fun, fast paced, story driven ARPG that has a lot to offer.
Bladed Fury attempts to tell a tale from Chinese legend, but exiles itself into the realm of the unremarkable with several missteps. Combat is not terribly deep and the precision strike system is no implemented well, though the Soul Sliver system adds a unique touch to it. While the sound design encapsulates eastern inspiration, the art design struggles to find footing in one place.
