8 / 10.0 - Beat Slayer
Apr 3, 2024

Beat Slayer’s gorgeous style drew us into this underground fight club, but the razor-sharp combat systems and constant gameplay updates keep things from feeling overly repetitive. If you ever wondered what an electronica take on Hades would look like, then come kick Deitrich’s ass in Beat Slayer.

Frivolous, farty, and gloriously chaotic but not the best episode of South Park. Snow Day is a mix of ideas all balled up into an action brawler. if you and your friends love South Park then some genuinely inspired moments make this worth taking the time to play.

9.5 / 10.0 - Dragon's Dogma 2

Dragon's Dogma 2 is a worthy successor to the phenomenal Dark Arisen. Capcom managed to improve the game on every front while preserving the spirit of a classic fantasy RPG adventure set in a living open world.

7.7 / 10.0 - The Thaumaturge
Mar 13, 2024

Clearly, Fool's Theory wanted to create a game that prioritized story, an uncluttered setting, and charismatic characters. And the studio succeeded. True, it is noticeable that they wanted a larger scope, but either there was not enough money or time. Closer to the end, even the animations seem very meager, and the endings seem chaotic. Overall, however, the team has succeeded in what they set out to do. With the success of The Thaumaturge, we can only hope they build on it and create the game of their dreams in their next outing.

8.5 / 10.0 - Last Epoch
Mar 12, 2024

Last Epoch is an impressive aRPG that features a web of interconnected systems and activities. The game's time in Steam Early Access served its purpose and, rough launch and some rougher edges notwithstanding, it delivers a smooth and enjoyable experience. Not as simple as Diablo 4, and not as complex as Path of Exile, Last Epoch has something for everyone, from the casual dungeon divers to the minmax lovers ready to chase that elusive stat.

8 / 10.0 - New Star GP
Mar 8, 2024

At it’s core, New Star GP is an arcade racer. If you revelled in the audacity of Hotshot Racing, then this doesn’t stray too far from that track. There aren’t any big boss bombs, but it does park up with an audacious swagger that invites players to simply jump in and go. The brash colors, silly moustaches, and easy action steering make this an entertaining option, especially when handheld. The magnitude of the Career Mode and the strategic decisions, such as pit stops are meaningful but not obtrusive. New Star GP is just fun! It’s a great mix of ideas, tuned to perfection. GO, go, go to the official website and get it now.

Zoria: Age of Shattering is a product of love and passion from Tiny Trinket Games. The game features a deep narrative, complex tactical combat, base building, and so much more. However, the lack of QoL-features brings it down: the highs are exhilarating, but the lows can feel a bit too draining.

Unscored - Farsiders
Feb 21, 2024

It is not often that I come across a game that is difficult to complete not because it is so complex but rather because it is incredibly boring. One of such titles is Farsiders, the debut project of Gambit Ghost Studio. It serve as a game you enjoy for a couple of evenings due to its affordable price tag, no more and no less.

8 / 10.0 - Enshrouded
Feb 5, 2024

Despite being in early access, Enshrouded shows incredible promise, and while it would be easy to write off the game as a Valheim clone, it's actually much more than that. The game has a noticeable difficulty spike, but it disappears as soon as someone joins you. The world of Embervale is simply breathtaking and perfectly combines hyperrealism and whimsical fantasy. Even the most dangerous parts of the game are pleasing to the eye, and the game itself is simply incredible.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's game world is interesting, and the combo-based combat feels like a mad cross between DMC and the Ori series. The game is absolutely worth the time to explore its huge map, and will provide us with interesting characters, in a reboot of the game series and a great introduction to 2024.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora: Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is an amazing game that masterfully creates a world that is as fun to look at as it is to navigate quickly. Ubisoft Massive has painstakingly brought the Pandoras to life, ensuring that both casual and avid movie fans will appreciate the sights. And while the game is sometimes able to hold its own against the films, its success is partially negated by the all-too-familiar Ubisoft formula peeking out from under its beautiful exterior and a less-than-interesting or innovative story.

Remnant II: The Awakened King offers a significant amount of new content and improvements to the base game, and new areas, items and NPCs provide players with a fresh and exciting experience, but unfortunately does not fix existing problems. The increased trait cap and new archetype add reasonable depth to character development and offer new playstyles to explore that can be enjoyed for dozens of hours, but doesn't have a huge story aspect to it. What about monsters? They added a few elites and that's quite enough. But they added just... one of the usual monsters. If you play for the world and bosses then this addition you will like it, but if for the sake of the plot then you may be a little disappointed.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader is a phenomenal roleplaying experience offering an immersive story and an impressive, highly-connected web of features and systems. To sum it up, Lords of the Fallen turned out to be an excellent entry into the soulslike genre, cleverly combining trusty mechanics from other projects while maintaining its own identity. The game offers a unique challenge due to its complexity but at the same time doesn’t forget about the newcomers, giving them ample time to adapt.

9 / 10.0 - Cyberpunk 2077
Sep 21, 2023

I was very impressed with the 2.0 update. Cyberpunk 2077 came out earlier and we had to wait almost three years for it to reach its current form, and I love it. I really wish they had been there from the beginning because they would have left a lasting impression on more than just me. The game has become much more beautiful thanks to new technologies, and in places where you just sit and admire what is happening on the screen, I haven’t had such a feeling for a long time.
