2URVIVE's Horde-like structure brings nothing new to the table, but that does not mean it is a bad game. Those who can overcome its unfair nature might enjoy turning their brain off and blasting away the undead, but don't expect anything too revolutionary here.
The fourth episode of Telltale's Minecraft Story Mode: Season Two is rushed. The lack of focus in the story, paired with the overly random humor and bugs, make it the weakest episode by far.
If you have Nioh on the PlayStation 4, there isn't a big need to upgrade to the Complete Edition. If you haven't played Nioh and you like action RPGs set in ancient Japan, this is the game for you.
This conclusion to Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy needed a lot more runway. The interactions between the crew of the Milano are sharp and full of character, but the mad rush to finish the plot ends up feeling somewhat unsatisfying when all is said and done.
Hand of Fate 2 builds on the success of the original release in every way imaginable. More cards, more encounters, more enemy types, more weapons, more special abilities, more challenge…it's an improvement across the board. All of these improvements are done without sacrificing the core elements or integrity of the series. If this genre-blending beauty has even peaked your interest in the slightest, pick this one up.
Geostorm drags puzzles out for far too long. Diehard fans of the genre might get some enjoyment out of this one, but the rough mobile port job and repetitive nature will turn a lot of people off.
I'm having a hard time with this review, because when the game works, I had a great time. However, with all the current issues, it is tough to advise anyone to pick up this title. If you are a Call Of Duty fan, you might be able to look over these problems, but the average player will want to wait for updates.
ShineG in the Bullethell is a broken game. It's cryptic, repetitive, and full of laughable Engrish. There are countless other shmups on the market today that would be a better use of your time.
Wolfenstein Fans will enjoy Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, but it is hard to justify the $60 price point for what is in the package. If you aren't a fan, wait for a price drop or give it the Redbox treatment.
Even at the meager price point, it's quite difficult to recommend Press X to Not Die. Once you beat the game, you can unlock a behind-the-scenes option. I wonder if that's where the comedy went. And this is supposed to be the "Full Release" version of this game. Either way, I didn't feel like being in auto-flagellation mode any longer, so I let it die.
GASP is an awful walking simulator that is a huge waste of time. It's lack of focus, deep story, interactive elements, substantial gameplay, and even ending will leave players frustrated.
Assassin's Creed Origins is a modern work of art. Aesthetically it's a masterpiece, but while many elements of the franchise have come leaps and bounds in the last couple of years, other parts remain stagnant. It leaves a far more exciting legacy in its wake than previous games, and demonstrates Ubisoft's true abilities when given the time to create something truly inspiring.
If you're a Switch owner, you probably already have Super Mario Odyssey. If you do not, and you even remotely enjoy platformers or Mario, I don't know what you are waiting for – pick up this game.
We didn't think it was possible, but ShineG in the Zombies beats out One Way Trip as the worst game Gamers Heroes has played this year. Save your money and don't believe Steam's lies – this game is awful.
The only thing Life is Strange: Before the Storm Episode 2 confirms is that in the advent of the new generations, the only things that (should) matter are me, myself, and I. Do whatever feels right and screw everyone else. Such a lovely, all-inclusive and accepting message to impart to the youth. This message is most certainly not for an "old fart" like moi.
Vitamin Girl might wear its inspiration on its sleeve, but it just can't hold a candle to Pepsiman. Those looking for an endless runner can choose from a feast of other options that would be a better use of your time.
The fourth episode of Guardians of the Galaxy might be filler, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. Though it does not move the plot as far along, those that like the action sequences found in the movies will appreciate what is present here.
South Park: The Fractured But Whole has everything fans would hope for, and is a well crafted turn-based RPG to boot. Put simply, this is the funniest game I have ever played, period.
The Evil Within 2 took what The Evil Within did and improved it in every way. If you need to scratch the survival horror itch, The Evil Within 2 is an easy sell.
Despite stiff competition from the likes of Lord of the Rings Online, The Battle For Middle-earth and War In The North, Middle-earth: Shadow of War takes its rightful place on the throne as the greatest Lord of the Rings videogame in history.
