Warhammer: Chaosbane has more depth than I expected. Expect to have hours of fun with this one. Grab a buddy and dive into some massive bosses and epic endgame content. Fans of the genre should be looking seriously at Warhammer: Chaosbane, and it's only going to get better during its life cycle!

Overall, Alt-Frequencies has some nice puzzles and a great change of pace from your typical puzzle game. The gameplay may be too simple for some, but I think it works thanks to the short run time. I would be excited to see what the team does next with the concept because I would like more auditory games like this one to hit the market.

Existing Yakuza fans most likely already know that this is a must buy if you're on the Kiwami train. As for new players looking to jump in, You can go in order, but the game does a good recap of what you missed in the early minutes of the game. Either way, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a damn good game worthy of your time.

A- - Akane
May 22, 2019

Akane makes for a fantastic quick-playing rogue-like game on the cheap. What it lacks in depth of story it makes up for in stuff to unlock and style. It's worth picking up if you're a fan of rogue-like games or arena-based hack-and-slash games.

A or higher - Katana Zero
May 21, 2019

Katana Zero looked fun to me when I first saw it announced and I thought it might end up being a fairly shallow experience but I'm glad to be entirely wrong. This game pulled me in for hours at a time with its world and story and I can't recommend it enough if action platformers are your thing.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a genuine surprise in terms of story depth and beauty. The game mechanics drive the plot further, giving us a truly terrifying look at siblings who are in way over their head. I can imagine that some will find the constant escort and stealth tedious over time, but I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I would consider A Plague Tale an earlier contender for surprise hit of the year. Don't miss out on this game!

Overall I enjoyed Beat Cop. Many people complained about its repetitiveness but you're playing a cop, which job is fairly repetitive, hell most simulations are 'wash then repeat' type game. Though sure it did feel a bit tasking, it wasn't a game killer for me, there were other things going on to distract me from it being boring. With it being $14.99 base cost, this is something you want to keep watch on.

Weedcraft Inc may not appeal to all gamers due to its content. Though business tycoon simulation fans should "toke" (sorry) a look at what Vile Monarch brings to the table. Although it may not be perfect, it's damn close.

A or higher - Overwhelm
May 13, 2019

Overwhelm is a delight to play. With its engaging evolution mechanic making the boss fights more challenging the closer you get to the end. It’s a perfect example of atmosphere, with its frightening sci-fi 8-bit visuals and refreshing color palette. The dread the character feels is translated perfectly into the gameplay. Overwhelm is great, and with its evolution to the switch, it’s found a wonderful home to showcase its roguelike gameplay.

In a way, game mechanics of Degrees of Separation keep you from having a fun, immersive experience. The collecting of scarves takes you out of the story, which is unfortunate. The narrator continually gives you clues and story exposition, but it's easy to ignore as you get knee deep in finding the scarves. It's a shame, really. The narrator's voice acting is lovely and the story is very sweet and endearing. It's a fantasy story with star crossed lovers that can't be together. The focus should be on the story and not finding scarves. Degrees of Separation can be enjoyed in small bursts, but overall it's hard to recommend.

World War Z takes the fun gameplay of the Left 4 Dead series and adds nice touches that create a fun and frantic zombie co-op experience. Some technical issues aside, World War Z is a blast with friends and scratches that Left 4 Dead itch that you might have.

Townsmen: A Kingdom Rebuilt is a fun casual game and besides looking like a mobile port, it quite fun to play and get lost for a bit. Hardcore RTS or city simulator fans may be put off at first, due to the slow beginning. I'd recommend diving in if you're looking for some fun, time-wasting simulation.

You may not be blown away by the visual experience of the game, but its a fun experience to play solo or with friends. Especially for fans of the Mega Man Zero series this is a must have addition to your library. Highly recommend this title!

While The Legend of Evil has quite a bit to unlock and work towards this games difficulty kept pushing me away with frustration. Unlike other difficult games the rewards for overcoming a steep difficulty ramp just doesn't feel worth it.

Treasure Stack does one thing and it does it really well. It also features solid multiplayer support and season unlocks to keep the game fresh. For a solo player it can become repetitive and stale and the unlocks don't seem to have enough variety to stand out. All that being said I would still recommend this game for anyone looking for a fun puzzle game on Switch.

This game is an interesting take on the same old Tetris action. It's a great bonus if you already have Nintendo's service, and it's worth at least the price of a month of the service to try out. I would highly recommend it.
