9 / 20 - Aragami 2
Oct 22, 2021

Aragami was and still is a good game to play if you like infiltration, and obviously you don't expect the same degree of finishing as a AAA. Unfortunately, this is where Aragami 2 crashes: wanting to do like the others and address as many people as ever. As a result, it does not satisfy us while we expected it after the success of the first, and includes too many defects for others who will not forgive this more artisanal side.

With House of Ashes, The Dark Pictures Anthology continues to grow, to improve, but does not allow Supermassive Games to reconnect with the success of Until Dawn. The staging contrasts with the previous episodes and is a success, especially during two passages, but the same defects accompany this new story of the Curator (strange reactions, abrupt transitions, scenes not long enough, lack of naturalness of the characters in terms of modeling and animation, marked choices ...). A nice adventure for an evening, but which will not rise in the essentials of your collection.

15 / 20 - Eastward
Oct 20, 2021

Eastward is a good game, very good even. While taking inspiration from certain models, he manages to show originality, in particular by staging an adventure advocating the importance of links with others. However, it's impossible not to experience some frustrations along the way.

13 / 20 - Encased
Oct 17, 2021

Very complete and very well written, Encased is a good old-fashioned RPG that knows how to take into account your decisions and in which aficionados of the genre (in need of Fallout first of the name, but also in more recent Wasteland or Divitiny Original Sins) will be delighted to immerse themselves.

12 / 20 - Sable
Oct 16, 2021

Sable is an open-world game with a bold, atypical and successful art direction. In its best moments, Sable is a small bubble of relaxation that makes room for exploration. Unfortunately, these moments of grace are constantly marred by a cheap technical part and a too archaic structure that spoils the initial promise of the game.

16 / 20 - Back 4 Blood
Oct 15, 2021

Back 4 Blood is indeed the Left 4 Dead 3 that we were all waiting for, even if it would be clearly reductive to limit ourselves to this simple comparison as the Turtle Rock studio has made great efforts to expand and modernize a recipe of which he is still the father. The result is a tasty soft in cooperation, jubilant and surprisingly demanding as soon as you increase the difficulty. Its build card system, the complete arsenal and the many small tools next to it, offer a lot of depth to the gameplay.

14 / 20 - FIFA 22
Oct 14, 2021

It feels like the EA Vancouver team has done a job to strengthen the immersion. The "Hypermotion" technology brings that much desired extra realism and authenticity, the gatekeepers are finally credible and the ball physics is more advanced. However, FIFA 22 is not the expected revolution, especially because the new features have little influence on the gameplay.

11 / 20 - SkateBIRD
Oct 11, 2021

SkateBIRD was designed with a lot of love and it shows in its concept and writing. At its launch, it was impossible to love it even if you tried. Nevertheless, the game is proof that a life-saving patch can completely change the game.

As since its first edition, Geo-Political Simulator 4, 2021 edition, is the most complete and realistic game in terms of geopolitical simulation. A serious sim title that can be troubling and abstruse for most players. Dedicated to a very small niche, it has visually almost not moved for 15 years.

We're not going to lie to each other, Pathfinder won't be accessible to everyone. Far from being sexy at first glance, you will have to overcome its apparent difficulty to fully enjoy this C-RPG with multiple arguments. Because the latter is provided with assets that, if not revolutionary, make it a quality game by developers in love with the genre, without a doubt. So sit back and take the time to savor the story for several dozen hours.

15 / 20 - Far Cry 6
Oct 6, 2021

Far Cry 6 will not be a revival for the license, but it is still trying to rearrange the formula. If in the background, we find everything that makes Far Cry, a Far Cry, the form, it, takes a little new look with additions that make the advance much more organic and less schematized than at the time. Where Far Cry 6 has trouble is in its desire to offer us a credible and mature subject, tainted by a gameplay that is completely at the opposite end of the day.

Despite its convincing 2D aesthetic, its music and its undeniable richness, Astria Ascending misses the boat a little to hope to compete with the greatest of the genre. The fault is a certain lack of inventiveness in the gameplay, a difficulty sometimes too demanding and an unclear course of missions, not to mention some fatal flaws.

In addition to its majestic artistic direction, its stunning staging and its striking musical themes, the title also manages to convince where it was not necessarily expected, thanks to a progression system and a demanding gameplay that borrow the best from references that have proven themselves in the field. Ember Lab is therefore achieving a real tour de force for its first try in the world of gaming and just for that, hats off.

13 / 20 - Steel Assault
Oct 2, 2021

For its first game, Zenovia Interactive achieves its goal: to pay tribute to arcade-type games. Equipped with elaborate graphics – although somewhat aggressive to the eye – and a pleasant soundtrack, perfectly conveying the desired atmosphere, the title has certain qualities. Never repetitive, it presents various enemies and phases. On foot, by boat or by air transport you will not (surely) be bored. Its other particularity lies in its accessibility. Indeed, it can interest both novices and the most experienced among us.

18 / 20 - Tales of Arise
Sep 30, 2021

Tales of Arise marks a real turning point for the license. More mature than its predecessors, the app may deal with the same themes as the previous opus, it adds a lot of nuance and does not fall into the clichés of the genre when treating its characters. Alphen and Shionne form a duo that is both touching and dynamic while the second knives that complete the group are not to be outdone and also benefit from a special care.

16 / 20 - Potion Craft
Sep 28, 2021

Potion Craft is so simple with such a good idea that it can only be interesting for players who are fans of simulation and fantasy. With gameplay that seems simplistic but can have its subtleties, you spend a pleasant time designing your potion stock and responding to the strangest queries of customers. We can't wait to discover the final version with the updates related to the recipes and especially to the shop.

15 / 20 - Deathloop
Sep 25, 2021

With Deathloop, Arkane Lyon has at least two merits: that of launching a new IP, the industry needs it continuously, and trying to think outside the box, while keeping their trademark as well as their strengths. Its multiplayer part, as long as it involves a real player and not the AI, brings a tension that we would not have suspected without getting our hands on it. What's more, it has the luxury of combining successful FPS gameplay with a level design that, once again, demonstrates all the talent of the developers (if there was any need for yet another proof).

16 / 20 - Lost in Random
Sep 22, 2021

With its gameplay, mixing action, dying, deck building and card game, we could, at first glance, fear the worst, but this one turns out to be set to small onions and be particularly effective with a grip quickly becoming natural. A success.

10 / 20 - Button City
Sep 21, 2021

Button City is a small indie game with a childish charm that hits the mark. Despite some narrative qualities, the title does not manage to bring its own paw to the stories seen and reviewed it tells. Even if one can not be as demanding as for the big productions, the mini-games have a minimal interest while the bulk of the gameplay relies on them.
