Yoku's Island Express is a must-have on the Nintendo Switch. It's a fun fusion between a pinball game and Metroidvania, with great lifespan and innovative gameplay mechanics. Get it now, you can thank us later!

It might not feel that different from last year, but NBA 2K19 continues to be the best there is in terms of sports simulation games with neat updates. A definite pick for fans!

After 20 years and 6 generations of games, Pokemon Sun and Moon is one hell of a breath of fresh air for the franchise. The new title ignored several known game foundations in the series to bring some new features. The island trials as well as a mixture of ancient and original Pokémon is an ideal mix, topped with an exciting story (for once), which will please all fans of the franchise.

Despite the lack of originality in the genre, Horizon Zero Dawn is a textbook example of a game perfectly put together to give the audience an emotional and unforgettable experience. The freshness and the beautifully crafted world is what we have been waiting to see this year and it has been delivered on a golden platter. Aloy just gave Lara Croft a run for her money. She is the ultimate badass.

When you thought that Turn 10 Studios couldn't make it better, they give us Forza Motorsport 7 that is simply divine. An exceptional achievement of gaming technology for the Microsoft first-party console exclusive, the game is impressive whether you can play it in "humble" 1080p at 60fps, or eventually reach 4K with 60fps on the upcoming Xbox One X. Without matching Project Cars 2's LiveTrack 3.0 system and realism, the Forza Motorsports 7 Dynamic Weather engine is a right start, and the "Career" mode is more engaging than the usual versions. A must have if you have the Xbox One!

XCOM 2: War of the Chosen is such a large expansion that it feels almost like a game of its own. If adding a little more than 10-15 hours of game time, new settings, enemies, missions and allies, it's the little improvements done to the core that makes this a true strategy delight for XCOM fans.

Call of Duty WWII manages to bring the series back to its roots and inject classic Call of Duty gameplay with slick new visuals and intense, atmospheric set pieces. Its new war mode gives the action a much more powerful feeling, and the campaign creates some truly memorable moments. Fans of the classic will be proud.

Civilization VI: Rise and Fall is a satisfying expansion to Sid Meier's 4X turn-based game, adding enough core gameplay features, civilizations and leaders to renew the gaming experience. Don't expect a groundbreaking change, as this is not a sequel, and some of the old faults are still there like difficult UI or the strange AI when it comes to warfare decision and weird diplomatic moods, but it's still a notable expansion.

9 / 10.0 - God of War
Apr 24, 2018

With this new God of War, Santa Monica Studios managed to perfectly refresh the franchise without losing its essence, making it the best entry ever made. While veterans might feel overwhelmed by all the changes, they will easily get used to it, and will play one of the top 5 best looking games on the console.

Dark Souls: Remastered is a reminder of how much the trilogy has grown over the course of 7 years. This version is a massive enhancement in terms of framerate, resolution, multiplayer, technical assets, and still as demanding as it was in 2011.

With a new world to discover, Assassin's Creed Odyssey continues on the path set by Origins, giving more choice to the players, with a bigger focus on RPG and the comeback of naval warfare. A definitive evolution of the series, and shouldn't be missed.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is a fine expansion, and by listening to its community, Bungie with the help High Moon Studios managed to bring back some life into what was a rough year for the franchise. Let's hope they sustain the hype with a steady flow of content and fun activities until the next expansion.

8.9 / 10.0 - Tekken 7
Jun 8, 2017

After waiting for more than 6 years for a sequel, you'd expect Tekken 7 to come back with the might of an iron fist, and Bandai Namco absolutely nailed that. A bit more serious than its predecessor, Tekken 7 is also more technical, precise and demanding without being less entertaining, thanks to its varied roster of characters. While it might not be the prettiest fighting game around in comparison to the current competitions, the rest works perfectly, especially the online modes which are for me the best in the genre so far. In short, Tekken 7 is a great competitive game for friends and rivals!

8.9 / 10.0 - Destiny 2
Sep 25, 2017

Without aiming to revolutionize the recipe, Destiny 2 does exactly what you’d expect of it: to correct the numerous defects of a game which had the base of becoming a legendary experience. With its impressive artistic direction and the beauty of its soundtrack, Destiny 2 offers this time a properly done story experience worthy of the legacy of Bungie. Epic, alone or with friends, the game is simply richer, more complete, and better thought out. A must have whether you are a veteran of the series or a budding guardian.

The Division ultimately is a real success for Ubisoft. An old but effective gameplay, is faultless visually at painting every street and every building interior of New York. Too bad some screen clipping and framedrops are cursing us console players, but that's not enough to truly spoil the experience. The game is a must-have for those of you who love the richness of a true MMORPG, with a hint of Third-Person tactical Shooter gameplay, like a Diablo III and Ghost Recon: Future Soldiers merged into one game. After over 70 hours of gameplay, I'm still nowhere near finish, and enjoying this game, its choices, its gameplay and experience. See you in New York, fellow agents

A must-have for any fan of the series, Fractured But Whole builds on the concept of Stick of Truth and provides an RPG experience that will please even the pickiest of South Park addict. It’s a licensed game that truly understands the source material and brings it into the game world. While the underlying RPG mechanics are solid, this is still something that will probably appeal to folks with Cartman t-shirts more than other gamers, so if you don’t like the show’s crude yet incisive humor, this may not be for you. But if you hum ‘Whamola’ in your idle moments, this is a must-have.

8.8 / 10.0 - Nier: Automata
Mar 10, 2017

More than a successful sequel, NieR: Automata is a gem with multiple flavors for all sort of players. While some will undoubtedly make the mistake of focusing at its dated technical features, they will miss out on an experience full of twists and turns. Featuring a captivating scenario that raises a lot of reflections on what goes on with the machines, NieR: Automata enhance the gameplay of the original 2010 game, adding much action from the know-how of Studio PlatinumGames. Original and surprising on many aspects, fascinating to discover and to listen to, NieR: Automata has it all to make it a memorable game.

Probably the best anime-style fighter out there and one of the greats in the fighting game genre, Guilty Gear XRD Rev 2 delivers a robust fighter that takes some time to master but rewards that patience with some remarkably fluid fighting action and a diverse cast with a unique range of moves and special attacks. It’s not quite like anything else out there right now, and I definitely recommend it for fans of the genre

Middle-earth: Shadow of War is great sequel even if it still carries the fault the original game. At least, the Nemesis system now truly feels alive and makes it one of the greatest game mechanics applied in a game. All the strengths of the previous game are reinforced, unfortunately some problems persist and I regret mostly the rough technical side of a game that could look much better for a 2017 release.
