For once, Square Enix did not do a lazy remaster with Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age. Those who have already played the game will discover almost a different Ivalice filled with a reworked musical themes and a more sustained rhythm of play.

8.4 / 10.0 - Antihero
Jul 27, 2017

The experience was very well thought of, and Antihero is one of the few indie games that I see myself returning to play day after day. I only wish they can add 3 or 4 more players and have bigger maps as the chaos will be entertaining. Despite certain bugs, I highly recommend everyone to play the game at least once, it is something rare and a true hidden gem yet to be discovered.

8.4 / 10.0 - The Escapists 2
Sep 20, 2017

The Escapists 2 offers gamers a chance to be creative in the way they approach challenges, and in the sequel you have a chance to tackle challenges with friends. It can feel a bit grindy, but that’s very much intentional considering it’s meant to reflect the life of a convict trying to slip out.

With a witty humor, great artistic direction, and award-worthy soundtrack, The Darkside Detective is a wonderful debut title from Spooky Doorway. While a short-lived experience due to its easy difficulty, it's a great start for this young studio, and I'm eager to see more.

8.4 / 10.0 - Sundered
Aug 5, 2017

While some difficulty spikes make it frustrating, Sundered is a capable action metroidvania that deserves a look simply based on its incredible world. Lots of indie games try and create a bleak, desolate world that you need to sift through the ruins of, but Sundered creates surreal and often disturbing sights with real talent, and it’s a world you won’t soon forget

8.4 / 10.0 - Cat Quest
Nov 19, 2017

Cat Quest is a little game inspired by the Legend of Zelda, full of furry adorable creatures and witty humor. For its little price, I would jump in and not judge the book by its cover, as this Action-RPG has more quality content than some of the biggest AAA releases nowadays.

8.4 / 10.0 - Ruiner
Oct 17, 2017

RUINER is a game for fans of brutal action and mayhem, and it’ll appeal to your inner psycho quite nicely. It’s not really as memorable in terms of storyline, but its thumping soundtrack and vibrant visuals make it a modern classic

Whether you are a veteran RPG gamer or just someone trying it out for the first time, do not expect Pillars of Eternity: Complete Edition to be that perfect experience for the genre. However rest assured that you will have a lot of fun exploring the beautiful world that is in front of you along with a beautifully written story. It is a great adventure rich with ideas.

Outcast: Second Contact, is a great throwback to a classic title that didn’t get nearly enough attention when it was first released. Unlike other remakes, the game has aged fairly well, and it’s clear that the game’s design was ahead of its time. It’s still got some rough edges, but it’s a great underrated classic, and it’s worth a spin

Painfully hurt by the lack of voice-chat capability on the console, Payday 2 is nevertheless a decent port of the game on the Nintendo Switch, with close to complete amount of DLCs from previous platform, and one hell of a fun experience playing with friends locally.

8.4 / 10.0 - Dead In Vinland
Apr 14, 2018

Dead in Vinland is a great sequel to its predecessor and is one of the most successful indies we have seen this year. The game is always full of challenges and will satisfy all survivor genre fanatics. CCCP truly blew it out of the park with this one.

8.4 / 10.0 - The Crew 2
Jul 10, 2018

There's definitely good intention with this sequel, even if The Crew 2 is not the groundbreaking upgrade we expected from Ivory Tower. While the game is still solid in terms of mechanics and gameplay, some weaknesses might not appeal to newcomers, and fans of the original will be disappointed by the lack of PVP at launch.

Dragon's Crown Pro is a great opportunity for those that missed the original game on PlayStation 3 but is not enough to justify a purchase for returning players.

Pode is a heartwarming experience about friendship and working together, and it’s best enjoyed with a friend. It can be a little tricky at times, but overall it’s fairly smooth and enjoyable.

8.4 / 10.0 - Gray Dawn

Gray Dawn takes on the familiar territory of religion and the supernatural, but it does so with a surprising amount of maturity and dedication. The story will have you scratching your head, but its multiple endings each offer some emotional payoff.

8.4 / 10.0 - Timespinner
Oct 17, 2018

Timespinner wears its influences on its sleeve, but it wears them proudly and manages to pay tribute to the 2D RPG Castlevania games and other great metroidvanias. It crafts a unique and often engrossing new world, and by the end, I felt like I had really relived the classics, and not in a bad way.

8.4 / 10.0 - Resident Evil 2
Feb 15, 2019

This version of Resident Evil 2 does what every remake should do; it retains what made the original great while rethinking the aspects that didn’t age as well. The remake gives players a chance to explore an absolute classic that definitely hasn’t aged all that well, and it’s a great nostalgia trip for fans of the series.

8.4 / 10.0 - Metro Exodus
Mar 11, 2019

Metro: Exodus is a great final chapter for one of gaming’s most underrated series. It definitely feels like it waters down some of the series’ more unique aspects in an attempt to bring the series to a wider audience, but it still has enough of that signature Metro charm to be a challenging yet fun romp through the wasteland.

Katamari Damacy Reroll is a great chance to explore one of gaming’s most revered cult hits. The gameplay might not be all that creative after a while, but it’s still a whacky, whimsical game of colors and shapes and rolling around that definitely merits a playthrough.
