The game is built solid and looks great. Milestone focused on the authenticity behind racing a bike of this caliber and it shows.
On the track it's an incredible experience that any racing fan would enjoy, especially with the Your Stage feature adding extra hours of rally-racing fun. Off the track, though, Dirt 4 comes up short with features to keep you entertained outside the vehicle.
The Golf Club 2 comes out swinging to show they took feedback from the first installment, and improves on every aspect of the original. From the customization options to the stellar game of golf on the course, The Golf Club 2 is a near perfect simulation golf game. The only thing keeping it from being the best ever are a few technical hiccups and a dry presentation offering.
MXGP3 sets out to do what it says; build an authentic riding experience from the ground up. It is a base line motocross experience that will certainly appeal to enthusiasts and hardcore fans.
At a cost of $29.99, there just isn't enough of a potential return on investment to justify Snow Moto Racing Freedom. The game wasn't bad to the point of being unplayable, it was just boring. And that can be almost worse than being unplayable.
While it is heads and shoulders above its predecessor, FlatOut 4 still leaves you wanting more. Fine tuning the difficulty and career mode would go a long way to redeeming the one time great FlatOut franchise.
NBA Playgrounds has potential, but it just leaves too much in the locker room to be considered anything more than unpolished. At least there's no micro-transactions in this one.
All in all, the game is not that bad, but you need to take it into the right prospect. It's an arcade game, focused on giving its players a fast experience with real teams and players. It's not a rival to The Show, nor does it try to come off as one.
MLB The Show 17 is a great installment, and no matter how long it's been since you last picked up The Show — even if you still play The Show 16 — this game is worth the pick up.
It has the recipe for success in the indie sports market, and could become one of the hits of 2017.
Improving over the 17 version wasn't an easy feat, but the devs did it. Hats off.
Disc Jam is a nice base for something big in the future. It has a simple-to-grasp control scheme, fun and accessible gameplay, and even takes more strategy to succeed either solo or on a team than one would expect from a game like this. Sadly, it often feels too bare to spend as much time in it as other options out there.
Franchise Hockey Manager 3 isn't a game for everyone. If you're someone who's more into the on-ice action as opposed to the management – no pun intended – then this may not be what you want to play. That being said, those who are already fans of the franchise or want to know more about what a management sim is like need to look no further than Franchise Hockey Manager 3.
So with limited depth, an unnecessary learning curve, no progression and horrendous stability issues, it's even more frustrating that at its heart Infinite Air is actually quite fun.
I'm not saying you will get 50 hours of gameplay from Party Golf. I'm not saying it's a technical marvel. But it is the perfect title for a change of pace, and it is very addictive and competitive. But most importantly it nails the most crucial aspect of being a game; it is so much fun.
If this series manages to go more in an over-the-top and insane direction, I can see WWE 2K having a big turn-around, but Visual Concept and Yuke's continue to try and create a skill-based wrestling simulator. This series will continue to be thinned out and fundamentally unenjoyable as long as that trend is around.
I was impressed with Forza Horizon 3. I have played every version of Forza since Motorsport 2. Every time a new Forza game comes out, it am confused by how amazing they are. If you compare Horizon 1 to Horizon 3, the games are so different. But if Horizon 2 and Horizon 3 are compared, the setting is the only major difference. Still, Playground Games managed to make an amazing game that makes up for it's lack of improvements with stunning visual features.
