8 / 10.0 - WWE 2K23
Mar 13, 2023

While WWE 2K23 is a minor upgrade from its predecessor, there is enough here to satisfy returning players and introduce new ones.

6 / 10.0 - NHL 23
Nov 11, 2022

Now fans are quick to call a new game a copy of the last game with 5 points added on to the end. NHL 23, is probably one of the first that I can say would deserve that honor. As a longtime player of the franchise, I’m a bit taken back. Gameplay-wise I would recommend the game, I feel they’ve made a bunch of minor improvements to keep it fresh with the biggest being the Last Chance Puck Movements. But with little to no improvement in most game modes. If you already have NHL 22, I would wait until NHL 23 is on sale before I get it.

7.5 / 10.0 - PGA Tour 2K23
Oct 19, 2022

Though the game lacks a lot of visual and presentational flare that 2K clearly does with its other sports games, PGA Tour 2K23 challenges you to use imagination to get up and down its gorgeous golf courses.

7 / 10.0 - FIFA 23

While FIFA 23‘s presentation and gameplay have improved, the lack of care and significant updates to fan-favorite modes continue to slow this series down.

Like real fishing, Call of the Wild: The Angler is a game that can be absolutely maddening yet gratifying at the same time. The game has fun fishing gameplay and what’s there is nice, there’s just not a lot of depth for those looking for a deep and fun fishing experience.

7 / 10.0 - Madden NFL 23
Aug 22, 2022

Madden NFL 23 is a game that does quite a bit to make on-field play more fun than in years past. And even with its shortcomings, it’s finally starting to turn into the game fans have been hoping for some time.

9 / 10.0 - Cursed to Golf
Aug 18, 2022

Cursed to Golf’s difficulty and gameplay loop had me hooked from the first tee. The rogue-lite elements mixed with the addicting golf gameplay will have you teeing off deep into Golf Purgatory.

8 / 10.0 - F1 22
Jul 8, 2022

For what F1 22 lacks off the track in newness, it makes up for behind the wheel. The racing feels authentic and the changes to the physics model makes for a challenging yet rewarding experience. MyTeam and Career are deep and fun, but there’s just something that doesn’t sit right about the F1 Life.

The gameplay and racing in Tour de France 2022 has depth that reflects what makes bicycle racing feel different than other racing games. Unfortunately, those mechanics are buried inside a bare bones package that happily wastes your time.

8 / 10.0 - Redout 2
Jun 24, 2022

Redout 2 is one of the fastest racing games I’ve played. The game is stunning, with diverse tracks and unique hover ship models. Controlling hover crafts are smooth but take time to master. This game will break you down and test your willingness to come back. The rubber banding from AI competition will make the game frustrating but overcoming those obstacles and winning races is so satisfying.

Besides the absences of baseball and boxing, the six sports on show here are smooth, responsive, and fun. While Nintendo Switch Sports could do more for the players that play solo, the game is at its best when you play locally with friends.

Big Bang Pro Wrestling is a simple retro 16-bit game that will frustrate modern players. However, a very tiny screen and a grappling system that can leave you wondering how to possibly win matches are only minor complaints. And with a price tag of 7.99 USD, there is hardly any risk of buying this piece of video game history.

7 / 10.0 - MLB The Show 22
Apr 6, 2022

Gameplay is just as impressive and enjoyable as ever. That being said, there are still some problems that detract from the overall experience. Server and technical issues, as well as minimal new features to modes like Road to the Show and Franchise, could make some feel like this game is MLB The Show 21.5.

Motocross games have come a long way since I played MX vs. ATV: Unleashed in 2005, and Monster Energy Supercross 5 proves it. Sure, the presentation is disappointing, but the developer’s attention to gameplay and controls overshadows any fault. While the developers could do more to help ease new players in, the game is still a must-play for Supercross enthusiasts.

8.5 / 10.0 - WWE 2K22

6.5 / 10.0 - Rugby 22
Feb 22, 2022

Rugby 22 does some things a lot better than any rugby game of the past decade, especially on the field. Unfortunately, everything off the field keeps the game from having any sort of replay value unless you are a diehard.
